Description
The coloring half of my promised tutorial. I'm sure this one is even more confusing and long-winded than the line-art one. Sorry guys, I really did try. (If you can't tell this is an area I have 0 confidence in). Hope this helps someone. Comment here with any questions/comments/concernsFull view to see the tutorial. It's a huge picture, so beware!
Also, yes, I did change the shading for his hair after making this tutorial, but since the point was how to make the lines, not how to position them, I saw no need to go back and change it. Plus it would have been a bitch to do, and I'm lazy.

^__^ if you want to use the magic lasso tool you can always use that then go select, modify, expand then expand your selection by one or 2 pixels, thats what i do. its easier than doing the whole thing by hand

Hey great tutorial, but I have a suggestion! Hopefully no one else has told you this... XD
Otherwise I would just be annoying...
Yeah! So when you use the magic wand tool, and you selected inside the cell hair you were doing, you resulted in an area you have to color by hand. However, there is a simple way to fix your problem!
If you go to the bars at the top, and click the one that says "select" you can go to "modify" and then "expand".
If you expanded your selection by 2 or3 pixels, maybe even 1 pixel, when you use the fill tool, you wouldn't end up with that are you have to color by hand.
I hope that this helps. ^_^;

Oooooo that is helpful! I will definitely try that out and when I update the tutorial I'll mention that. I mostly color by filling work paths these days, but that will definitely come in handy. Thanks

Haha, I wonder if you'll ever even get this. Anyway, I just went to your profile and there's a big advertisement at the top of the page that says, "EMOTIONAL PUNK" and for a second I thought, "Wow, Amanda changed her profile. That's weird, I wonder why she put THAT--Wait." Heehee.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi, and... um... hi... and I have yet to watch any more Buffy and it's killing me. It's like there's a neon sign in the back of my brain blinking, "BUFFY. BUFFY. BUFFY. SPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKE!!!!!" only it's in reverse so it can only be seen in the mirror ('cuz I always have to do things the hard way *sigh*) so really that makes it just a sort of confusing, bright green irritant shedding a sickly light on all my thoughts. Hence everything in some way relating to Buffy and reminding me that I STILL HAVEN'T FINISHED IT AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Anyway, I really wanted to share that with someone, it's been prickling at me, and I figured if anyone would understand, it would be you, my comrade-in-arms (especially when it comes to obsessing over shows ). But oh man, Friday I finally get to stop working and I think it'll be a Buffy day--it's not quite the same without you there--there are all these Spike moments when I want to turn and exchange an ohmigod-I-love-Spike-he-and-Buffy-need-to-get-together look, and then you and Cass exchange an enigmatic glance and I get all excited because OOOOOOOOOOOH what did THAT look mean? Is it good or bad? Oh man something's gonna happen what is it what is it what is it?! And then you and Cass go confer and Rose and I pretend we don't really care and don't feel tempted to go eavesdrop except we sorely do and try to make up for it by making predictions and sharing our insights into the Buffy drama. *sigh* Good times...
So, yeah... I'm enjoying the artwork, every one you post I think "oh man best one EVER it can't get any better than this" but then it DOES! And I didn't comment on the tutorials, but I enjoyed reading them.
Okay, except now that's a lie 'cuz I was going to post this on your profile in the space I equate with a Facebook wall, only when that was me intention it was also my intention to just post a little blurb, but now I've invested too much time in this comment to risk you not seeing it so now I'm posting here. And feel compelled to talk more about the tutorial, since that's where I'm posting.
Honestly, it makes me want to try using Photoshop. Only then I go to a store and see Photoshop and just laugh and laugh and laugh at the price tag....

Ummm. Other one... I believe it's called "Dappled Sunlight" or something along those retchingly corny lines. It's probably my least favorite that I posted, but somehow became a smashing hit. I mean, it's pretty, it's definitely one of my top 50 from all the hundreds that I took, but of the ones I posted on DA, I didn't think it was that great, almost didn't post it. I think my aesthetic sense is off from normal, somehow... My compass points West, toward toe socks and matching browns with reds and purples, where the rest of the world has their compass pointing North towards things that really match and look pretty. Heeheehee...
Intriguing... my front page, eh? *trots off to check*

That is a very pretty picture, and you are silly for thinking otherwise, but I think the leaf would work better as an icon. I'm thinking of changing mine, possibly to smooshed!Hitsugaya from my last pic. But I don't know. Of all the crap in my gallery, what should I make my icon?

Hmmm, that does present a dilemma. Okay--here's the plan. We send Rich in as a diversion, dressed as normal Hitsugaya, and when the hollow Hitsugaya goes to stab him, I'll grab his sword arm, and you can glomp away!!!!
Whoops... Um... Where's Sakura and Orihime when you need them?

No, it's okay, he'll be fine. Watch--he gets stabbed... but then he shakes it off and smiles amiably at his angry attacker. (Alliteration abuse!) He's Rich--he can take it. If not, we'll just revive him with our annoying Rich call.

amzimme In reply to begger4mcgregor [2006-08-30 07:07:17 +0000 UTC]
*gasp* SURELY you know the annoying Rich call!!! We used it a lot over spring break, but we MUST have used it since then... Oh, wait, actually, probably not. The annoying Rich call was in fact developed precisely because you weren't there. Heehee. We were trying to use DDR--it was me and Rose, and we were downstairs at the guys' house trying to switch over the systems, the X-Box was involved, and we were afraid to mess with it too much because we'd break something beyond repair and had no idea how they had all their crap set up, and we asked one of the Andrews, but we'd already done SOMETHING wrong and he said he didn't know and didn't want to mess with it, and we were lamenting that fact that you weren't there with all your techie-knowledge, and then we thought, OH, duh, Rich DID all this, he'll know what to do, but we were feeling too lazy to go all the way upstairs, so we looked at each other, looked up, and started plaintively calling out, "RIIIIIIIIICH! RIIIII-IIIICH!!! RIIIIIIIICH, come HELLLLLP us!!!!" And eventually he came down looking befuddled but amused, and had us all set up in about two seconds. So that's the story of the annoying Rich call, as it has been dubbed--handy for all of your technological problems. But yeah, I'm actually not surprised you haven't been told about it, because you're generally our first resort--we only need to use the annoying Rich call if you aren't there to help.

Hold on--makes sense to crazy techies like you or makes sense to people in general?
Seriously--see what happens when we leave?! That's it. We can never leave them to their own devices. Or maybe we should always leave them to their own devices, if this is the result... Who made it all nice? I want to say Andrew-san...

They had to switch entertainment centers so they had to basically reconnect everything. Rich did it, sorry It's all on the one imput, and you just push the button on the switch box thing they have for the console you want. They are even labeled clearly!
Rich also finally hooked up the cable (well the couple channels they get) to the TV downstairs! Oh the crazyness. In fact, I would wager that their system (not counting the X-Box media center thingy) makes more sense than MINE!!!!

More sense than YOURS?! See, now that IS impossible. Sorry, but, uh--now I'm really going to have to see it to believe it. Is this going to turn out like Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny? 'Cuz I just can't TAKE another disappointment like that!

I swear, it's crazy but true! My system really doesn't make sense when you get down to the older consoles. Silly boys with their fancy no doubt expensive switch box! Back in my day (today) I had to put things on all my inputs and run 2 consoles though my VCR, and I LIKED it!

Well, a switch box is almost cheating, really. I mean, where's the fun in that? YOUR way--now that actually makes you feel like you're doing something, like you've ACCOMPLISHED something. They're just lazy. THAT'S why they... um... re-wired and re-connected their entire system... Yeah, that's it...
Seriously, though, they're cheating.
