Description

Hey guys this is a redo of the Carlos submachine gun. I needed to replace the old one due to several things. Like the magazine being angled to far back and bad lighting.
Hope you guys like this.

The Carlos submachine gun was a simple blowback operated and selected fire weapon that fires from an open bolt. The receiver is made from a steel tube. The separate barrel jacket is also made from a perforated steel tube. Despite the fact that that Carlos original used only one type of magazine. The UMP magazine a 30 round hybrid magazine based on the 26 round glock magazine and the Thompson 30 round stick magazine. They retained removable magazine housings of earliest original Carl Gustav m/45 submachine guns. Which were intended to allow use of various types of magazines in caliber conversions. The manual safety is made in the form of an L-shaped cut made at the rear of the cocking handle slot; it is used to engage cocking handle when bolt is in retracted position. The sights consist of a front blade and flip-type rear sight, marked for 100 and 200 meters. Shoulder stock came from a M3 grease gun.

History The Carlos was made for the need of a cheap reliable sub machine gun for the armed forces of the towns of Caguax. A rechamberd Sten gun was picked at first because it was the easiest and cheapest to make but had it flaws. But an amateur gunsmith called Carlos A. Rodriguez took it upon himself to fix that with modified a sten gun witch became the CAR-1 witch was introduced three weeks after the flash. The CAR-1 was a solid gun but was not of the scratch by Rodriguez is standards. So he quickly tried to make it better. In his quest to make it better, he found several Carl gustav m/45 submachine guns and modified them to use the .455 auto ammunition. The new prototypes were tested by the council, and it passed with flying colors.

1. "last ditch" Carlos: The uptime Puerto Rican Carlos submachine gun was a simplified version of the Carl Gustav M/45 in .455 auto. It was produced during the first days after the flash to the past. The Swedish design was simplified in Caugax production by discarding barrel jacket and simplifying the sights and using the shoulder stock and barrel from a m3 grease gun. This less expensive and somewhat more roughly finished version was produced as a emergency or last ditch submachine gun. As the gun was need to arm the Caugax army and their allies. It was this submachine gun along with the Sten gun what gave the IRA there first taste of automatic weapons. Because of it hasty production the gun had no selector switch unlike it counterpart the sten. This along with some other complaints lead to the Carlos MK 2. Out of the three models, this was the less common one do to a lot of them being converted to the MK 2.

2. Carlos MK2: The Carlos MK 2 in it design is an almost carbon copy of the original Carl Gustav m/45 submachine guns but with a few differences. Like the change in caliber from 9mm to .455 auto. This version of the Carlos is more well made and less rushed that the Last ditch Carlos. The finish was parkerized like the last ditch Carlos but it better coated on. A copy of the original m/45 barrel jacket and sights were put on the gun but the telescoping wire butt stock M3A1 kept on. The crude grip was replaced with copy of one from a Smith & Wesson M76 Submachine gun. The most important thing added to the gun was the addiction of a simple selector switch near the trigger. The most odd thing installed on the machine gun was a bayonet mount for a British 1907 bayonet. The request was asked by the IRA leadership to help with close quarter fighting in cities like Cork or Dublin. This model is the most common of the Carlo smgs

3. Carlos Junior: The compact Carlos junior was the idea of a couple of ex-gunsmiths from Argentina who had worked on the ML-63 submachine gun. These gunsmiths to parts various guns. From the Sten gun a selector switch mechanism, the bolt, barrel and magazine came from the carlos submachine gun and the pistol grip and gunstock from a M3 grease gun. The gun was developed as a cheap to make and build submachine gun to be given to civilian supporters of the IRA to defend them selves from the Black and Tans. But it found wide use in both the IRA and the Caugax army who prized it for its simplicity, ruggedness, firepower and compactness. It was common weapon found in use be tankers and armored car crews, this gun was the second most common of the Carlos Submachine guns. The post war years saw this submachine gun used by Swat teams along with the Gladus machine pistol.
