Description
[UPDATE: You need to Download the tutorial in order to view it. Previously DA allowed thumbnails for picture items. That changed in later years.)Because the title bar only allows so many characters...
2nd - I didn't realize until I was close to finishing the tutorial, that Silver's other quill just looks too out of place.
But for the sake of the tutorial itself... I didn't change that. That change will be made in Part 2.
If you have any recommendations on how future tutorials can be set up, please give me the advise. I need all the help I can get.
My fingers are almost frozen...and I'm going to bed.

Your request is to make a tutorial on drawing other Sonic characters? o.o Well that's an odd first for me...
Actually... I think I could do something along the lines of that- but I had started something like this a while ago (mostly sketches) but I think I can just continue with the idea in a different format-
I can't promise it'll be what you're looking for, but rest assure some time in the future you'll see something like what you're looking for~

o.o Just create a new layer, and use the paint-bucket tool to fill the layer with white
Try referencing back to first image of the 'Layers' window near the start of the tutorial

I saw the two tutorials and they are awsome. So far so good. One question, on the line art where you use the convert tool to move the straight lines to a curve line, would using the anchor tool work as long as you click the right places, using the pen tool, then the anchor?
Sorry for the long paragraph, sorta can't help it kinda thing.

Ah no worries, believe me, this isn't all that long, but back to your question~
Hmm... not sure if I'm familiar with the anchor tool. What version of Photoshop are you using?

Mattex01 In reply to BlazeTBW [2008-07-01 04:20:42 +0000 UTC]
The version of Photoshop I'm using is CS3. The looks from the tutorial I saw looked exactly like the tools and settings I have. Not to sound pushy but there is one other thing. When ever I'm done coloring, there seems to be blue left overs. I kinda switched the blue and white background in the begining. Like between the color and the line art there seems to be th color of the background.
If you want to see here it is...[link]
Zoom in on the ears and the body.
Thanks.
ignore the mood thing it won't go away.

Hmm... Well, I wish I knew a little bit more on the anchor tool
I haven't used CS2 in at least a year (because that's what I used to make the tutorial, but I've been back on Photoshop 7 since I got my Mac)-
As far as the little specs, that's a small part of refining were you use the brush tool and go back to fill in those spaces- which is why I recommend using a separate lay so that you don't have to worry about messing up your lines much for adding the colors~
Welp, hope that helped! Any more questions, just let me know~

This line tool makes big black circles.. How do I control it?

BlazeTBW In reply to ali32 [2008-06-26 16:37:00 +0000 UTC]
Are you sure you're using the righ tool? It sounds like you're using the elipse tool (not the selection one, but there's a an elipse, rectangle, line and custom shapes as well, you won't find the pen tool there)

No, it says I am using Pen Tool and it makes these weird curves and black spots

I'm not sure if this has been said, and I'm not about to scan through pages of comments to prevent from repeating, but I found that if you have the Window's version of Photoshop you can right-click after finishing a path to open up the mini-menu and fill/delete the path when your done. Saves a slot of time versus moving the cursor all over the place to get the path finished.
But anyways, excellent work Blaze! Thanks for the tute, and I plan on using this to help better my own art style.

Well now that's somethin' handy to keep in mind!
I personally like keeping the path there though in the event I don't like now the line comes out (that's why it takes me so long sometimes XD)

I don't know how to do that because the format won't allow me to give the download option. The first part was done before the preview option was dealt away with. Sorry.
