This is on par with [link] I think, both are probably the best (and most convenient) methods of creating rings in Photoshop

I actually think that method is great as well. Really, anything is good so long as the twirl filter isn't involved
I find that when I want softer rings his method is better suited than my own.
Nothing, and I mean nothing, irks me more in space art then open ended ring bands.
