Description
This is how I color skin in my anime styled drawings.I dunno if this'll help anyone but imma upload it anyway.
I don't feel that verbal today so there's probably tons of typos and such.
I know that many had hoped a drawing tutorial not a coloring tutorial, but asdfgh these things take so much time to make, anatomy tutorials even more, so I can't really promise when I'll get one done.

You can't really blend well on Photoshop so that's why Sai was recommended

Thank you for this tutorial! I just started to learn how to draw last year, and I have a tablet a tablet i had for two years that I got as a Christmas gift, but never really used it for drawing. I am now learning how to draw digitally, and boy oh boy it's a different ball game. Color scares me but this tutorial put myfears at ease, thank you ^-^

Do you have the color codes for the skin?
Also, I don't seem to have a marker in Photoshop CC, do you know where I could get one?

I'm curious what you're marker settings are because i find default marker too light for shading but can't get it dark enough without loosing the fade out effect.

I know that's what she meant xD
I called myself a "rebel" because I used something other than a tablet. And sadly I still am ;-;

I desperately need your help, I've accidentally changed the settings for my blur tool and I can't get correct them back to the way I had them previously, would be so kind as to possibly tell me your settings for your blur tool? I'm asking you specifically because your shade style is closest to my own. Your help would be extremely appreciated.

Okay here are my settings: (the names for these might vary depending on the version of SAI you're using)
Density: 100
Blending: 100
Dilution: 100
Persistence: 80
Smoothing Prs: 100
I change these occasionally myself so I don't if you find them helpful or not.

Sai is not letting me color the skin layer when I put the skin layer underneath the lineart layer. :/ how did you get it to work that way ? I'm afraid if i do what I usually do and put the skin layer above the lineart layer this method won't work because I'd have to put the skin layer on the "multiply" setting to be able to see the lineart underneath the color
π: 0 β©: 1
BloodlineV In reply to HasuReborn [2014-09-03 09:12:23 +0000 UTC]
Hello, and so sorry for the late reply!
The skin layer and the lineart layer should not be connected in any way and so the order you put them in should not stop you from drawing on them.
So make sure that the layers are not clipped to any other layers and that the opacity lock isn't on.

You may have figured it but it could be your line art is not transparent that is if you downloaded it from the internet.

The main light source is in front of her, and there's also many ambient light sources around her.

Just use the eraser tool and manually erase the extra bits.
