Description

I struggled so hard on this drawing, and right when I thought: okay it'll do, just scan it and be done with it,I realized my shitty scanner blurred it horribly. Well, that's a lesson. Don't do traditional if you can't scan or photograph it properly. I already knew I needed to focus more on digital art anyway.

So this drawing was inspired by the movie "The Death Of Stalin". I didn't like it that much, nor did I find it funny (Some call it a hilarious comedy. I personally don't find abduction, torture, rape and backstabbing to be all that funny so the humor of the film went over my head) but being me if there's a movie about the cold war: I watch. Some scenes were nice, I particularly liked one when a character threatens another subtly: he waits with soldiers at the other guy's place and "invites" him to talk. It's a power move and you can feel the threat even though it's not said in words.

I took that idea but wanted to accentuate the power move so I thought: let's have the powerful man be the only one sheltered from the rain, and have the umbrella being held above him by someone else. And then I just bathed the whole scene in an eerie red light which works quite well with the theme, and kind of makes it seem like it's raining blood.

Even though I'm not super happy about it, I think I managed to get the mood across.
