Starcraft 2: Protoss Gateway ver. 2Modeled and Textured by Phill Gonzales
The Protoss Gateway was one of the earliest buildings I made for Starcraft 2, and after eventually making additional Protoss multiplayer structures it looked the most dated. During some down time in development I made an updated version of the Gateway which wasn't used in the final game because it appeared "too bulky".

I really want some of these older models, the effects looked so much cooler and showed off how great the engines lighting is. =[

Yeah, it's a bummer to loose some of these learning & growing models.

In starcraft 2, when a warpgate is unpowered, why does it still have that energy orb thingy? I noticed in the battle report, an unpowered warpgate lost that blue black orb and looks like the warpgate on the top right.

I noticed that recently too... I dont' know if it's a bug or intentional so you can tell the difference between the two states of the Warpgate when scouting...
