Description
There's a few things that didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, but on the whole I'm happy with this. As with the Silver Surfer picture, a lot of the colours on this are in the background rather than the main figure, though here it's to a slightly lesser degree than on that picture. I think that maybe I should have added more grey to her armour, but I think the orange reflection of the flames works well, and I'm happy with how the shadows on the body suit underneath look. I think that the flames themselves look good too, as I'm happy with how I've built up the various shades of different colours, and I can say the same for the smoke too. The ground and rocks at the bottom of the picture have also turned out pretty nicely, where I tried to suggest that some of the light from the flames has peered over the edge of the cliff. Another really small area that worked well is the sky, where I'm happy with the fade from a dark blue to... well, an even darker blue, as well as how the stars look on there. I'm not massively happy with the trees, as I think where I tried to add shadows to them it's not ended up looking too great. I also think that they don't look too affected by the flames, which is obviously not what I wanted to have them looking like. The TIE fighters are a bit lost in the smoke, but as I wanted them emerging from said smoke, it's not too much of an issue. So yeah, a few nitpicks, but overall I'm pleased with this one.
