So yeah, finally finished this one! This was all done in acrylic paints, and I took the time to build up layer after layer of colour to get the shadows and everything looking as good as possible, and I think it's worked well for the most part. There were also a number of places where I watered down the paint a decent amount, and I managed to get this to blend the shadows out a bit more as I added in more and more layers of colour. I had things looking pretty good and I thought the shadows were looking very deep and solid, but then I added in some of Stuart Semple's Black 3.0 on the shadows, as I felt this would make the picture seem even more alien and ominous with some of that on there, but boy, I was not expecting the paint to dry in exactly the way it did. I like it, and I think it works well for the picture, but seeing the results makes me think I should have mixed some of the Black 3.0 with the standard black to more seamlessly transition between the two. Oh well, it's the first time I used the paint, so now I've got a baseline to work from and hopefully improve from. So yeah, I think this has worked out pretty well overall, and I've learnt a few things to carry on into future paintings.
