A lot of Avatar fans have a rather intense dislike of Maiko...in fact, I don't think I've seen another couple take so much heat! So, using my patented Booter Logic, I decided to delve into the reasons WHY(constant face sucking aside). However, my logic must have had an off day, judging from the grade it got. :/But ya gotta admit, guys who act like Mai DO get a love of love. Which is maybe why MAO is a good idea...[link]
Now, before you jump down my throat with Reasons Why Booter Is Wrong And Ignorant For Making This, let me just nip that in the bud. I am not promoting ANY sort of shipping, and this thing is a SPOOF. So if you're actually looking for a well-researched and thought out debate starter, look somewhere else.

I just came to this conclusion the other day, only with females and males in general. For example, you could watch any television show with my roomies, and they'll call the sarcastic/cold females bitches while any male character with a similar personality is considered a "hottie."

Me, I have no real opinion about shipping--(I seem toa be a rare breed; an Avatar fan that tries not to get involved in the shipping wars :-P)--but I'll admit that it bothered me a little when Zuko and Mai were just automatically 'together' at the start of the season. I'm a big fan character developement.

Very funny and true...to an extent. Forgive me for slightly disagreeing with your information, because in one of my fandoms, there is a female character who has a VERY similar personality to Mai, but she is loved in a very similar way to Zuko, or maybe even more rabid. This of course could be explained by the fact she has not been attracted to any of the fandom's hot popular guys, canon-wise. Ironically, the poor thing is the fandom bicycle instead! Well then again it is shipping...which automatically leads to double-standards 98% of the time.
Anyway, honestly, well researched article: I'd give it an A!

My personal theory is that it's harder for Zuko Fangirls to imagine themselves as Mai than it is as Katara - Katara's nice and sunny and has sparkly magical powers, where as Mai is dry-witted and double hard.
That's just a personal theory of course, and based on nothing more than conjecture.

...I say, I like Maiko, but I must agree with this logic. ZUKO SHOULD BE HAVING HOT NECROPHILIC BUTTSECHS WITH JET, BITCHES.
