I'm very proud of this one, I'm working on a portfolio to, eventually, illustrate books.

The first thing I thought when I looked at this was 'story book illustration'. So, when I read your description of it and your wish to be an illustrator, I thought I just have to comment and let you know that I hope your wish comes true. Because your style is PERFECT for it

Sooo cute! Really well-done forest, too--I find it's hard to make them look dense but not too busy, and this is perfect.

OwO It's so simple but you really get the feeling that the little girl is lost in this forest of such tall trees.
I really enjoy the subtle colouring.
My only suggestion would be--and this may be a personal preference--to add some texture of bark on the trees just as you added texture for that grass. And--depending on whether or not you wanted the feeling of the picture to be light or dark...If you wanted a light and airy feel to it then the shading and subdued colours are perfect, but if you were going for a more ominous feeling I would make the black in the background darker, but just enough so you don't see any of the whites of the paper.
Yep, but other than this, I really like the picture and it looks as if it would fit nicely into a illustration perhaps for a children's book.
