Description
Here's this year's "Best Design" winner: Calamity Kangaroo in his fourbie. Calamity's made of clay, the stuff in the back is carved into the wood, the fenders are balsa and the bars are actually lollipop sticks. I also used some ground-up colored pencil lead applied to the still-wet paint for the dust and dirt.Related content

I wouldn't know; I never actually tasted it...
I'd bet it would taste like wood and paint mostly.

It's not cheating, it's "employing alternate means of completion."

Looks fantastic, especially the dirt and dust effects. Well deserved winner for sure.

Yeah, the dust and dirt was fun to do. It was a bear to clean up, though; it got everywhere.

I doubt Calamity will mind a bit of dust and dirt on his Fourbie, it will just show how much of a rugged outdoors roo he is.

That was the general idea. Besides, washing your car in the Australian Outback is like trying to dry off a submarine while it's still underwater.

'When a car is dirty out in the outback, you can tell it's reliable', no doubt that's Calamity's philosophy when it comes to Aussie motors. Though it will probably only be true 50% of the time

I have a cartoon all scripted out called "Job Insecurity" where Calamity tries to earn a little extra pocket-money and one of the things he tries is washing cars. Problem is, nobody shows up. He and the Professor reason out that even though everyone around there has a dirty car, no one cares.

Well if they're cars get dirty all the time, nobody would. By what I meant about cars working while they are dirty 50% of the time, is that the other half could be broken down heaps in which their engines overheated and were abandoned out in the outback. Mind you that gives Professor Platypus, plenty of spare parts to play with.
