Description
If youI've been running out of time to go to everyone's profile to thank them, but if you can't take the time to type a short comment, I'm not going to take the same time for you.
Ok, besides the super lazy background, I think I'm finally done with this piece, lol.
For those of you that haven't been Watching me, this is my original character, Candrence, in her human form, as opposed to her natural form, a Friesian Unicorn.
*** Edit ***
Ok, I did kinda rush this background, but I was trying for speed and to look nice. I went with putting her in a tree since she is a part of Nature.

*blush* Thank you very much, I worked really hard on the dress and I was trying some new things (new to me, lol) to keep the dress looking soft and smooth.

Thank you very much, I like textures and I've been trying to work more into my pieces to give them a little more of a realistic feel to them.

Ooo, I like the idea of her sitting in a tree. It fits with how she's sitting. Very pretty background for a rushed one.

Thank you very much for your compliment, Well, I also called it "rushed" because I have never drawn a tree in Photoshop and I wasn't sure the best way to go about doing it, lol. At least people know it was supposed to be a tree, lmao.

Backgrounds take time -- I used to always leave the page blank behind my characters.
But lately I've been trying to gain more skills with drawing landscapes, buildings, etc., and doing a lot more backgrounds. Try just painting a landscape or other scene without your character, then add it as a layer behind her. I find it is much easier that way.

That is actually sort of how I've been doing it on accident, lol. I was bored one day and created Midnight Banner as sort of a practice at landscapes. This was a pretty quick landscape but it got the effect across, lol. I used the same idea when I made the background for She Kisses the Sky with Stars. So, I've been trying on some of my pieces for nice backgrounds, lol.
I'm just more at a loss as to what the background should be for this piece. A night sky, sure, but I wasn't sure of what to put her sitting on. A fence, maybe? Put her up in a tree, maybe? Like, she's sitting on a thick branch and leaning her back against the tree itself? That might work. Now I just have to wonder if I can draw a tree or not, lmao.

A tree would work nicely, especially if she is a nature-loving person. Or maybe on a rocky crag in the mountains? For inspiration, check out Wikipedia and Wikimedia. Search on Landscape or better yet, the "Hudson River School", which was a whole group of people who did gorgeous landscape paintings. Tons of inspiration can be found there.

*blush* Thank you very much, hun, I decided on the tree because she just looked like that was what she was sitting on, lol. And the tree still leaves my starry sky revealed. My only problem is that I suck at trees, :-P lol

The only cure for that is to keep drawing them. Treebeard the ent would be happy.

"Treebeard the ent would be happy. "
Hahaha, I'm honored,
And yeah, I guess you could say I've been practicing trees lately because I've been playing around on a website called iScribble.net and I've drawn a couple trees while messing around on that website, lol.
