Yeah... they really were some of the best years ever. The state, amazonas, is the biggest in Brazil, but the population is concentrated in about five big cities. I remember, in 2010, they actually found a tribe of natives that didn't even know that Manaus existed. They were still living as there people did 500 years ago.
And, I dont even want to imagine what people do with penis bones. In Parantins, they would make a this little dried up pouch with boto gentalia that ws suppose to make you more attractive to the opposit sex. But, the catch is that female and male botos have similarly shaped sex organs so a bunch of guys were walking around with d*cks in their pockets

The movie is about Voodoo in New Orleans and the scary-fuckin' shit that can go down if you try to mess with religious rituals you don't understand. It's a very well researched film, I suggest it.
Ritual stuff scares me a lot. I have no idea if rituals work (I'm a man of science who has seen some insane shit) and the uncertainty is really upsetting.
It's like sticking your hand in a tiny hole in a cave and hoping you pull out gold instead of a centipede.

I'd be interested in watching it. I'm incredibly skeptical to actually believe any of that stuff, but I certainly find it fascinating. As far as research goes though, it can only help for writing later!Β
