Could be. I suppose we'll never really know for sure. Though it might be similar to why our tails evolved out. Was just something we didn't need/use/

I'm a female and biologist and generally I don't really feel much but gods it kinda hurt me mentally to think how evolution worked on this one. People with broken penises, forever alone... And only freaks without bones emerged as victoruous. It's kind of... brutal.

I guess we humans lost ours because we walk upright, and having a penis bone while walking upright is just a tragedy waiting to happen.

I know! Walruses have the largest penis bones, since whales don't have any, primates have super tiny ones, the smallest one belonging to the Mamorset. Oh and female animals have similar bones.

Yeah! It kinda looks a bony washer with ridges in it. I would link a picture if I knew how. Some people make them into jewelry, the really big ones are made into bracelets.
