Description
(In the Kelvin Universe)In 2263, Starfleet commissioned the construction of a more advanced Constitution-Class Starship at Starbase Yorktown and was slated to be launched in 2264. Overall this would have been the third ship of it class and was to have a more advanced sensor array as well as upgraded weapons, shields and more streamlined for a better warp field geometry. Initially it's registry was listed as the NCC-1702 witch would have been the "U.S.S. Farragut" in honor of the ship that was destroyed at the battle of Vulcan in 2258.
However, after only five years of service in the Federation's Armada. The U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1701) was destroyed at Altamid III by the renegade alien known as Krall-who later was known as Captain Balthazar Edison of the missing, presumed lost U.S.S. Franklin. In order to escape Altamid, the Enterprise crew manage to make repairs to the U.S.S. Franklin and escape the system in order to stop Krall from destroying Starbase Yorktown. Once Captain Kirk manage to kill Krall by ejecting him into space. Admiral Paris, the commanding officer of Starbase Yorktown offered Kirk a promotion to the rank of Commodore and the position of being her Executive Officer on the base. When Kirk asked if Flag Officers commanded starships, she said they don't which prompted kirk to refuse the promotion in favor of being a starship captain. Admiral Paris utilized her personal authority to change the name and registry number of the "U.S.S. Farragut" to U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1701-A).
By 2264, Kirk was Captain of the Enterprise-A and continued his mission of deep space exploration and held a compliment of nearly 500 personnel, which also included the crew's civilian families (something that hade not happened aboard Federation Starships since the destruction of the U.S.S. Kelvin). By this time Starbase Yorktown was construction three more Constitution-Class starships, including U.S.S. Farragut, Lexington and Yorktown. Sulu

Shouldn’t the neck be closer to the dish and that large “window” be taken out?
