Description
The Lancelot-Class Starship entered service in the late 2290's and was devloped at Utopia Planetia, by Captain Montgomery Scott after the decomissioning of the Enterprise-A. It was based on the venerable Walker-Class survay vessel. The design of the Lancelot consited with a saucer section with an integrated, laterally-positioned navagational deflector, a compact secondary hull with twin nacelles attached by warp pylons positioned beneath the ship's superstructure. A tactical modual sat between the war pylons and carfully placed to prevent "lick shots" to it's own hull. This ship class was capable of atmospheric flight flight by means of key positioned thusteres over its ventral hull.

In 2301, the U.S.S. Longdegrance (NCC-2176) was placed under the command of Captain Nyota Uhura. Her first mission was a five-year mission of exploration in the Lesser Magellanic Cloud, during which she made over one hundread first contacts with a veriaty of alian species. In 2317, with Uhura still in command; the Leondegrance became a cadet training vessel until her retierment in 2335. Following the ship's decomissioning later that same year, it was placed on permanent display in the Fleet Museum at Anthan Prime.
