Description
...::EDIT::...Larger and edited file on request.
Several people were complaining about the small font. Leaving critiques and comments are more than welcome, but I just don't like it when people use my tutorials and at the same time nitpick about the smallest things and don't even leave a "thank you" note.
So for those who do appreciate the 30 hours I spent in writing and drawing this tutorial: I uploaded a larger file. You can click download for full size.
...Whoa...
This is a MASSIVE tutorial I did in only 2 freakin' days! LOL.
I said I would do a gift for you all because someone hit the 60.000 pageviews. Besides, I got over 1550 watchers and my drawings of Vincent and House got over 1000 favourites.
Ooohh look at the pretty colors. My previous tutorials look quite boring compared to this baby.
Ehm... what else to say...
Have fun!

Tortillions cannot be reused except for smudged areas.
However, blendingsticks can be used more often if you sharpen them with a pencil sharpener or sandpaper!!

Totillions are paper stubs right? I cut mine It does seem to work however if you can slice them till they're sharp enough like the original ones. It's hard to find separate packs in my area as I can only find those with all sizes. I used this tutorial to teach my brother the aspects of shading and why he has to shade and not just leave his still life with lineart only.

How do you not get the pencil everywhere? As In whenever I heavily shade with pencil and my hand was laying on the picture, it gets everywhere. Do you spray with with like hairspray of something?

I'm definitely going to use your tutorial to help me improve my drawing skills when I have time in the holidays! If I could learn to draw even a quarter as well as you draw, I'd be happy! Thanks for posting this!! Btw, I love your Misha icon...he was the one who told me to comment here...and well, I can't disobey a direct order from our overlord, can I now?

Og god, you make such good details with just regular erasers? I usually use click erasers for small areas...

Thanks again Nicolien. Seriously, you can do an artbook with all the tutorials you have... interspersed with your AMAZING works... it'll sell like hot cakes. You already have all the materials, you just need to rearrange the sequence and come out with a demo copy (is it what they call it?) and send to publishing companies. I just know that it'll be on top of the hot selling list...

You can use tortillions more than twice.
Just use your nail file on the tip (:
All the graffiti will come off, and it's gonna be as good as new.

Omg that's the same way my teacher taught me to shade. I never actually used that method on my drawing though XD I just drew lightly in some areas and drew darker in others. I didn't start with a dark color and then use a kneaded eraser for highlights, although I do have all the tools you put in the tutorial. and you're right about the finger smudging. TRIED IT WHEN I FIRST STARTING DRAWING. it sucks!! one time my finger was wet and I smeared it and then my finger print got stuck in the picture! I was like WTH!!

Cataclysm, thankyou so much for this tutorial, it has really helped me learn a few things and helped me decide what tools to buy. I actually felt very proud when I realised I'd been holding the tissue right when I first read this. :giggle Your drawings always inspire me and I often find myself reaching for a pencil while flicking through your gallery.
Thankyou so much for sharing your art and knowledge with us.
