CutePokemonTrianer In reply to ??? [2008-03-22 18:54:42 +0000 UTC]

Do you have to use glaze, and bake it. Or can you just let it dry?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chat-noir In reply to CutePokemonTrianer [2008-03-23 03:12:54 +0000 UTC]

Well you can just bake the charm. Polymer clay is a form of mold-able plastic that cures in a normal oven. The glaze doesn't have to be baked. It's more like a floor varnish, you paint it on and let it air dry. The charm/clay does have to be baked or it will never harden.

Delicious! Mint and chocolate have always been a great combination. I never got used to orange and chocolate though.

i has a question, what clays are you normally using?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chat-noir In reply to NimbleBun [2008-03-22 17:11:01 +0000 UTC]

I usually use sculpey III brand polymer clay.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NimbleBun In reply to chat-noir [2008-03-22 17:14:03 +0000 UTC]

so its pre-colored?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chat-noir In reply to NimbleBun [2008-03-22 17:15:36 +0000 UTC]

Yes, only the pink and dark brown colors are hand mixed. You can't buy those colors so you have to mix to get your own.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NimbleBun In reply to chat-noir [2008-03-22 17:17:09 +0000 UTC]

yeah, i figured you were dying them somehow. what dies are you using?

or is all this info in an faq somewhere so i don't have to keep buggin you about it lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chat-noir In reply to NimbleBun [2008-03-22 17:20:41 +0000 UTC]

Well most can be made by mixing pre-existing colors. Like red + white clay = pink. For others you use chalk pastel scrapings to color white or light colored clays. I have more info about it in my My FAQ: [link]
and in these two articles that list all sorts of info about polymer clay 1:[link] 2: [link]
