Photoshop kept dying on me. So I am going to try and do the breakfast one tomorrow. I think I am done with photoshop for today. I didn't think this would take so much time and be so huge.
Enjoy. If you make something with this please link back here so more people can learn how.

I do not suggest or recommend making polymer clay plugs for your ears. Polymer clay is not "clay" but a form or porous plastic. Meaning, your ears might grow into them! There haven't not been many cases but don't risk your ears!

I adore your tutorial so, so much! I just had to try it, and mine turned out really well. : D Your idea of using translucent Sculpey for the inside of the rice was brilliant.

I'd been trying to do this from other tutorials I'd found and kept smushing everything when I cut it. Thanks for your awesome tips.. I'll try freezing it before cutting it next time. Thanks Soooo much.

hey, neat tutorial. i did wonder what the translucent clay was for, but the end effect is really stunning!
its definitely worth the hard work and effort to make. ha ha, you can make miniature sushi sets and glaze them. after that you can put them into weeny bento boxes or slices of wood. too cute!
to you for this neat tutorial.
ive seen lots of these cane making before, cept this sushi thing has to be the cutest thing that ive come across so far.

Canes can be a lot of fun. I made a tiny cupcake cane before. It turned out a little wonky but it was still super cute. ^_^
Teeny bento boxes sound super cute. I should give it a try. ^_^

Heh, well it's pretty much how all canes are made. So I wouldn't say I'm a genius. I am just little old me. The crazy candy loving cat lady. ^_^
We still totally have to get together and make brain slugs.

ive actually found that clay is easier to cut when really soft and warm, the blade slips right through...but i could see how it being really hard would help too lol.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
chat-noir In reply to Remyreaper [2007-07-02 15:53:29 +0000 UTC]
Yeah usually it's great to cut warm. It's just that if the clay in a cane is warm the image can get pulled and distorted. You can actually see a little of that in the cut in my picture. The black clay from one side got pulled a bit from where I cut it. (Because I was impatient and cut too early to finish the tute ^_^; ) When the clay is harder and cooler it's easier to cut with no distortion.
