This is a rug design I made in Photoshop. I used the selection tool with many layers to create the objects, shapes, lines, and details. Very little to this.Related content

Oh wow. An old timer! How have the years treated you after more than a decade? I have gone from being a solitary insulated broke college student to having two kids, a nice corporate job, and 3 military deployments. I don't make art hardly at all any more and instead spend much of my time writing code and pondering opinions on how web technologies work. I can't help but look back at all things and changes that have occurred for me over the past decade and wonder what things may look like after another decade if life continues to change so fast.

Hi! I am surprised you remembered me. Things have changed for me as well. I am still a graphic designer and photographer but I moved away from Los Angeles so the nature of my work has changed a lot. I live in Texas now and I work for a publishing company right near a military base. I still make art but I don't post it here because as lot of it is, I am sad to say, unfinished. Client work takes precedence.
All told, things are going fairly well for me.
I saw your website at prettydiff.com the day I commented here and it did surprise me that your creative life had taken the a turn from art to tech. I still remember doing your metallic rings and jewels tutorial. I'm glad you replied!

Honestly I want to critique this because I know critiquing helps but I find this to be so intricate, beautiful and well done that I have a hard time looking at it from a critiquing standpoint. You were an amazing artist back in the early 2000's when I used this site more and you've only gotten better since.

Woah ! I am not much of a critique but.. this rug looks sooo professional only much better. I mean it looks like one of the rugs we have at home
only it's much more richer in design and more creative . I keep wanting to look at it and discover the designs. I love how detailed everything is
and how symmetrical it is. The leaves that u used in the whiter part of the design are especially pretty! And maroon is a beautiful color for rugs!
I especially love the details in the center o.o like how the smaller flowers and leaves make up the big flower shape. Very professional work.
