Into the new year!

...Well, not reaaally, the pictures was already done in November 2009.

Long before the Harry Potter Boom the German children had already a very popular little witch - she is called Bibi Blocksberg. At first she stared only in children's audio books, that series is still ongoing, but today we've got also a TV series, two live action movies, lots of merchandising - woah, although she's imho mainly a German phenomena, she's got even an English wiki page! I could write a looot bla bla about Bibi - her audio dramas were a part of my childhood. But then on the verge to my puberty they introduced some new characters and made new story steps ... I didn't really like that, and, you know, puberty. Would I like one of the newest stories? Perhaps one day I will check it again.

Here you see a very young Bibi - in the main story she is almost all the time 13 years old - with her mother, the witch Barbara, on Barbara's broom Baldrian (means "Valerian"). I imagined this as the very first time Bibi flies on a broom. She loves it already.

I always liked Barbara, she's a very cool character, especially as a mother. Not so awesome as my own Mama, but almost.
I wanted to portray the bond between her and Bibi, that was it what made me drew the picture.
( the father is a normal human, btw! )

The poor birds SUCK ( they are supposed to be swallows, pff ), Bibi is *too* thiny compared to her mother - but still, the result isn't horrible enough to stop me from uploading it.

The German word for jaunt, or trip or tour would be "Ausflug". Literally translated Aus-flug means out-flight ... well-fitting for witches.
