Yeah, it's nice to see that pageview number go up, but honestly, the pageviews aren't what make you an artist. Or a good friend. Or an awesome person.
It's just a number. :'3
So don't think you're a horrible artist just because you don't have as many pageviews as someone else. That's just silly.
So perk up. Keep practicing. Don't let a number comparison discourage you, yeah?

Edit: please don't rant about those pageview bot things. Honestly, I hold the same opinion as dA. Who cares? If people want to spend their money on increasing a statistic, I say go ahead and let them. It's their money

Actually, "pageview" is a word, but that doesn't matter now.
Anyway, i agree with what you said. Having over 9000, or a lot more pageviews doesn't make a better artist, you could be a stealer known by a lot of people that reported you.

Oh, I don't mean the "daily", I mean the over all count as well xD For instance, you can disable the counter for the pageview daily chart, but not the overall number which is displayed on your page.

Not necessarily. I've found a lot of really talented artists with very little pageviews.

There's more factors that have to be added in.
How active is he/she?
How many deviations did he/she post and how often?
Is he/she getting involved with the DA community in some way?
How many groups is he/she in?
When did he/she join?
You know what? You're right. It's being a better and smarter artist that gets you pageviews. In this site, if you want your art to be seen, you cannot just post it, and let it sit, as your pic will be in the front page for 0.2 seconds.

i have about 12K pageviews and it would be nice to see it go higher but I know that some lousy number isn't going to put me down and discourage me from drawing. I love art and I will always draw =3 thanks for making this stamp

What really irritates me is when people say that you are a terrible artist because they don't like how you did one of your works.
I personally like getting more page views, given that the reason that I joined DA to begin with is so that I could get help with my work, it makes me feel good to know that I'm improving and becoming more popular.<3
PS: I'm sorry that I haven't finished the painting that I was making for your b-day. It's going to be 3 years late at this rate, but I'm picky.... I guess that I'm always like this when I try to make a painting. It's not something that is just done in 5 minutes or so..... Anyway, I'll send you a link when I'm finished.

Haha, no worries! I'm the same when I'm making birthday pics for my friends - heck, usually I'm weeks late. I've just been lucky the passed three times that I got them uploaded the day after |DD

Yes, it is just a number but I LOVE seeing it go up.
I like it when more people see my art, even if they don't comment or fave--just to know that they saw it (or might've saw it)... makes me feel nice.

It's true. Some people pay to get more pageviews, and they obsess over it. I used to care about them a lot, but now I realize that it's not really that important. I even stopped doing a kiriban because I don't really care. I want to get my art out there, but I make my art for me, and I don't really care how many people come to my page.

I've actually heard that there are a few deviants here that are trying to advertise page views (must be some sort of bot or whatever it's called. xD) and it's like cheating on a stupid number for no apparent reason.

Well, this is true, because I know of several artists who go on the front page and favorite every new thing on there for about five minutes, and when the victims go to thank them, tada! More pageviews. I HATE THAT. SO MUCH. It's not all about how many people see your page, guys...
I say this and know it's true, but it's still like OMG lookie there! It's been a year and I finally got 5,000 pageviews!! Took me long enough... D:
