I mean, honestly.
Do you know how much work it must take to keep this site in relative order?
I know I may not necessarily know what exactly our staff do as I’m just your classic deviant trying to enjoy the site, but just looking around me, I can easily tell it takes one helluva job.
Why must people bash the staff then? Calling them all kinds of nasty names and such?
There’s a difference between disliking the way things are run and hating the staff blindly. I mean, do you know them? Honestly know them? Do you know what goes on in their lives? How do you know how much hard work and sweat they put into this site?
I’ve run a site before. It’s not easy. And I was running a tiny 100 member fansite. Look at dA compared to that
And if you hate dA so much… why don’t you just leave? Why waste your time complaining and –excuse the language-- bitching about it all the time? Just save your breath (or your fingers) and leave the site. It really isn’t that hard.
I just don’t understand why people have to bash the staff so harshly :/
I really couldn’t believe some of the stuff they were saying in the devMeet chat earlier today…
Can’t we all just show a little more respect towards those who have kept this site running for us?

They could just hire volunteers (from schools that require hours to graduate for example) within their office region to patrol the website for, at least, stuff that isn't art (like internet memes, gifs from youtube, demotivationals, etc.). They can hire a chaperone to patrol them (I prefer ones that can ACTUALLY patrol) in case if they plan to horseplay around. That way, they don't have to pay and students can get COMMUNITY service hours!

There is a photo that shows a teenager with her privates shown and is garnering a lot of views. The photo has been reported and so far it's still there. I had reported it as well. Hoping that it will be gone but last time I checked, it's still there. Some DA members are seriously considering leaving DA because of this. This, we believe, is illegal and against DA etiquette policy. I'm not sure if the DA abuse report queue is just that long or it has totally been overlooked. Again this is an image of a minor which in case might bring major issues for DA.

Do you know how many reports dA staff get per day? Per /hour/? There's a lot to sift through. They have a "prioritizing" policy, but even then, there's a lot of stuff coming in and only so much time to look through as much as they can. I can understand the frustration as I've reported stuff before too, but it's important to remember that the dA staff has outside lives as well, not to mention their workload already.

No I hate the deviantart staff, they keep banning me because im under age, im 12, and you have to be 13 to be on deviantart, thats bullshit, art should be for anyone, not for just people 13 or above, the deviantart staff are just assholes, they've banned me about 5 times, and I have to wait till Dec.9 to get back on my original account, FUCK YOU DEVIANTART STAFF, FUCK YOU

A law is bullshit for protecting younger kids from the internet, dA more specifically-- a place that holds all kinds of material not appropriate for said age group? Not to mention pedophiles who could take advantage of naive youngsters not old enough to realize that giving out their emails and phone numbers is dumbassed?
It's a law for a reason. Not to say that all kids below 13 can't handle the internet, but in the majority it's better just to be safe than sorry.

I was going to reapond to people specifically, but that's clearly going to take hours.
1. The staff doesn't choose to ban your friends for random reasons; someone reported them, and, under investigation, it appeared to be legit.
2. Think of the people running this site. Who-knows-how-many people use it, and I'd bet the people who run it all fit into one office building. They have to filter through every report, suggestion, and thing sent to them, while running contests, DDs, and stores, PLUS actually keeping the place operational, AND putting up enough of their own art to earn their place in the community.
3. Benefit of the doubt, people. Just because the is someone in authority, don't assume that it must be their fault. At least TRY to see it from their side.

Help Desk has to deal with everyone who uses this site's reports. That takes a while, and you can bet computers glitch, and some things get lost. Give some people the benefit of the doubt.

Well it's not that dA is bad, it's just that th staff aren't the nicest or most helpful people. They also ban and accuse people of bad things that they didn't do like they did to some of my friends. I'm sure they have more important things in real lif besides for holding a site but there are alot of staff memebers, some are of them are good and some of them are bad. Sadly, most of the people meet the bad staff and it's not like we caused it or anything. Everyone has their opinions on the staff, we really don't like most of the staff here but maybe some of us stay here so that we could post art here or to keep in contact with our friends but for most of the part, some of the staff are giving us a hard time. Sometimes they don't even follow their own rules. Sometimes when some people are breaking the rules, they do nothing but when you or your friend is breaking the rules, they treat you like crap and that's unfair even when you tell them that that person is breaking the rules and giving you a hard time. I can remmeber one time when someone was bothering me and was breaking the rules and spamming, I told the admins that saw the whole thing and do you know what they said. They said "They'll let it shall

As much as I love this site, I feel as if the administrators are doing a crappy job at handling the community, well some of them. All these issues w/ those admins started last year when a talented good artist and a really good friend of mine, !AshySavloy38 later known as !MrJRussell87 was wrongfully banned for a reason of trolling/spamming, something he didn't really do. There are other deviants I know that were banned for wrong reasons, the most recent one was !Satoshisgirl whose account was hacked which led her to be suspended to be being banned, those admin(s) didn't really give her a chance nor did they give my friend one as well since those admin(s) are caught up in their little world to be making money by shoving products down our throats. I know not everyone agrees on the same page but me and a band of friends are getting tired for the treatment we've been getting nowadays.
Just letting anyone know that sometimes you can't always trust on who's in charge since they can screw you over.
FUN FACT: !MrJRussell87 was banned for ban evasion on March 18th(19th), 2011; a week after his birthday. Something tells me the admins must want to give my friend a HUUUUGE BIRTHDAY surprise.
FUN FACT TWO: !Satoshisgirl was banned since the other day; December 28th, 2011, 3 days after Christmas for posting pornography links but in reality it was a hacker who did it and later on threatened DA admin(s) over something which led to this poor deviant to be banned. C'mon I know our economy sucks and getting someone a late birthday present isn't the best thing for dA administrators to do.

Honestly, the dA staff barely even does anything anymore. There is a very obvious art thief who has been stealing from people for 5 months and regardless of how many people have reported him, the admins haven't done anything.
There's a guy who's gallery is filled with pictures of his erection, yet whenever he's reported, the staff claims that the reports are "invalid".
Honestly, whenever someone does something ban-worthy these days, they never face any kind of punishment outside of flaming by other deviants. The dA staff used to do their job well enough, but now it seems like they're not even trying.
