Hi, I'd like to clarify something. What thickness do you use for each strip of wood? You mentioned using strip pine wood of 1cm thickness, but I noticed the tsuba holes are only 5mm thick. I'm confused..

we don't have white primer, so can we use black primer instead?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chioky In reply to FoxKids1302 [2008-03-29 12:54:53 +0000 UTC]

black primer is more used for darker colours but I guess it might be able to work for lighter colours aswellx

FoxKids1302 In reply to chioky [2008-03-30 15:16:36 +0000 UTC]

We would use silver to represent the color of the blade, I hope it'll work on that black primer ^^

I love what you did. I think if you added some black paint by hand into the tsuba it may just give it a more realistic look in the "metal" You know, as a shadow in the relief of the tsuba.

Does this make sense?

chioky In reply to AddictedtoRain [2008-03-28 23:12:05 +0000 UTC]

I understand where you come from but the tsuba details are so small and I mean by a 1mm I dont have a steady hand enough to handpaint XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AddictedtoRain In reply to chioky [2008-03-29 02:29:09 +0000 UTC]

Ha-Ha. I guess, I suppose I forget that some people don't work in most mediums. I do a lot of charm work where the charms are as small as 12.7mm
