Description Continuing my trend of making rational backstories to the Thunderbird craft, here is Thunderbird 4. 2 and 3 available here:

The Silverfin was one of a few testbed craft used extensively by Gordon Tracy while he worked as a designer and test pilot at W.A.S.P R&D. Based extensively on W.A.S.Ps 1 man scout craft, it's purpose was try out experimental propulsion, sonar and torpedo systems.

Following a near fatal hydrofoil accident and his departure from W.A.S.P, Gordon's billionaire father Jeff, was able to obtain the craft and presented it to his son in what the world saw as an exhibition of his immense fortune. The craft was involved in several charity water events and a few deep sea research dives before finally being retired... Or so the world thought.

Deep within a secret Tracy Construction and Aerospace facility, Gordon and a genius inventor, known only as Β "Brains", completely refitted and overhauled the craft for it's real purpose.

Despite getting relatively little screen time compared to the others, Gordon always seemed the most charismatic of the Tracy bros, easy going and a bit of a prankster. Given that and TB4's small size I went for a "garage style" look instead of the massive professionally run hangers the other two where in.

I also took a bit of time to try and get Gordon's character across. So the place is a mess of, parts, beer and pizza boxes. Theres a small tribute to TB4's other incarnations as well as quite a few obscure references to Thunderbirds and other shows. Have a look, you probably wont get them all...

Will probably get to 1 and 5 eventually.

No real reason to say it's not.

Item spotting:
Two different concept models on the small workbench.
The '1' on the new tail fin. Font identical to the '1' on Thunderbird 1. Cannibalised from TB1 perhaps?
2004 Film TB4 on the RH drawing board.
B&W submarine sketch also on RH drawing board bears a passing resemblance to SkyDiver.
Coffee ring on the desk, and the pizza menu on the RH drawing board.
Loudspeaker on bench, remote speaker on side wing of TB4 for use while working.
Paint colour sample splashed on RH side of image.
Stereo Valve amp/preamp design as the large circuit diagram?
Thunderbird 3 central vanes rescaled for the "engines"?

Probably dozens more - but I'm not good at item spotting.

I agree with you about Gordon being the most charismatic; he's also a master of looking at things sideways as evidenced by his "Aha!" moments in the show.

Like your other illustrations/backstories, this is excellent work!Β It doesn't negate anything we know of official "canon", but instead dovetails with it very neatly.

Fantastic! Β The level of thought and detail that you put into your images is wonderful, and this one is no exception. Β If you're ever after a challenge, how about the construction of TB5?

5 Would probably be one of the easier ones seeing as Β I wouldn't necessarily have to build a hangar, probably next on my list
