Description An image I started a while ago but had serious trouble finishing. Ever since I made my new Cloudbase model for the various Scarlet 50th projects i've wanted to do a nice image to go with.

The top left quarter of the cloud section I found as part of a Adobe stock image and really helped to bring the thing together.

Made in Blender and Photoshop.

Nicely done! This reminds me of one of the silly and minor plot holes of the series. What if some poor commercial or private pilot blunders into visual range of clouldbase? (Despite all the radar and sensor systems packed into the thing...)Β

Definitely one of my most favourite series ever. Β While Thunderbirds was always quite enjoyable to watch, Captain Scarlet had that dark edge to it that was so unlike any other childrens' series of the time...

I always loved all the Gerry and Sylvia Anderson productions. Captain Scarlet was cool because they scaled the heads in closer proportion to the bodies.

It did add to the series' realism, but it entirely threw off the balance of the puppets compared to the earlier Thunderbirds ones. Β That is why the show employed a lot of gimmicks such as mobile walkways and chairs - trying to 'walk' one of the puppets was nearly impossible (the few occasions they did 'walk' them, they actually did it with a puppeteer holding the legs of the puppet off-camera...)

Yeah. They ended up looking a bit scary when they tried to make them more realistic. LOL
