Description
A remote controlled experimental tank, the Unitron, has been taken over by the Mysterons and is attempting to kill the Supreme Commander of Earth Forces. Captain Scarlet attempts to evacuate the Commander in an SPV but is forced to go head to head, with the Unitron.Or at least it went kinda like that... They kinda rammed each other...
One of my favourite episodes of Captain Scarlet, mainly for the kick ass battle-tank, the Unitron, coupled with good music, this makes what would otherwise have been a rather standard episode shine.
It also occurs to me that i have done literally nothing with my SPV model since the "SPV sketch" video: [link]
Mainly because its awful and requires a lot of photoshop fixing to make it presentable.
Despite its obvious drawbacks in a real world application I do love the design, it's like getting chased by a very happy looking shark on wheels
Made with:
Miles and Miles of sand.
Sweet sweet Victory.
A computer.
Vue 10
Photoshop
and Particle Illusion.
I would like to thank the Supreme Headquarters of Earth Forces for their assistance in this image.

This definately brings back a lot of childhood memories. Watching the programme, reading the comics and playing with the toys - so thanks very much for that. I like the quick story you've put with it, definitely fits the original mould e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
" title="
(Smile)"/>.
The composition itself is very good, I especially like the sense of drama and speed given off by the dust cloud and the blurring effects on the wheels and tracks. The models are also good quality and well skinned and harken back to the old school Gerry Anderson a little, though I felt that the angle of the shot hasn't quite shown then off to the fullest extent.
It needs more carnage! Not really a critique appropriate comment but I can hear the epic music and tension that the original programme used every time I look at this. But I feel like something is missing and that some added effect would really liven it up for the casual watcher e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
" title="
(Smile)"/> Maybe some sparks on the treads or wheels?
The impact on my and a few others I have chatted to has been big - just simply as it's things like this which keep a good childhood show alive and give more people a chance to come across it and enjoy. These programmes had a real impact on my life (am an engineer with a really fascination for machines and gadgets) and I really love this kind of work.

Thanks for the critique you are right, in hindsight I probably should have dented the Unitron a little more and added sparks.

No worries Glad it was useful. I will keep an eye out for more stuff - there is so much potential in the worlds and works of Gerry Anderson - and am glad people still involving themselves in it.
Will you do a Mk2 version? Or perhaps one based on the next stage in that story?
Nice work though

Loved that part of the episode where captain scarlet has to basically sacrifice himself to save the commander, especially the end where mr. Blue (I forgot his rank) is berated by the commander.
awsome pic dude XD

I like how the Unitron and the SPV go to their destruction together.

When I saw this pop up in my inbox I jumped. I love Point 783 (and for some reason, I keep bringing it up around my flatmates)
Wonderful to see some fanart of this. It looks fantastic as always
The SPV does have flaws but it's still my favourite land vehicle of any of the series

It is a class episode. Weirdly I think its the music that brings everyone back as without it it's quite standard.
It is a great vehicle just try turning though.

I'm not going to be able to get the "very happy looking shark on wheels" idea out of my head now...
