Another vintage Gerry Anderson Concept for an article I wrote that will be going live shortly.This is one of several designs featured in Derek Medding's "21st Century Visions" book. Not too far removed from what we ended up with, but quite notable is the forward swept tail fin (similar to the Spectrum Jet's) and the larger front intakes. The wings are also straight suggesting the possibility that they bend for landing like the final version.
All the way through this I kept thinking of the MIG-242 from Joe 90... I wonder why.

It never ceases to amaze me how prescient Gerry Anderson was. The Angels somehow predicted the configuration of the fifth-generation air-superiority fighters like the Rafale, Griffon and Typhoon nearly perfectly!

I thought looking at Dereks pencil drawing of this it looked more dynamic head on (with the intakes) but you can see why he went on to develope it further, but it's a very arresting looking prototype
