Description
Tip of the Day: Secrets for drawing effective poses. This page, from my book, "Figure It Out: Essential Poses," shows how a slight bend at the waist can add energy and style to an ordinary standing pose. The book's focus is how to turn ordinary poses into dynamic poses. It's available on Amazon, at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Barnes and Noble and Jo-Ann's. www.christopherhartbooks.comRelated content

I think I've figure out how to draw this type of pose ... the next step is remembering to use it!!
The local library has some of your books BTW. Some of them are really good.
(The rest are probably good too, only they're just too advanced for me at the moment ... )
My wife asked me to draw some illustrations of kids being naughty for a kids club (what are they teaching kids these days??). I tried to remember all you said about poses and expressions in your shonen and shojo books. If you're interested, please have a look:

I especially like the one on the upper right. The expressions & composition work very well.

This is very helpful. I have a question though. Is there a way to make a pose symmetrical without making it appear static?

Yes, very many. Remember, the torso also contracts as well as stretches, and then you have positioning of the limbs as well, which can be symmetrical.
