Description Another fun boss! From Metroid Prime two: echoes.
The thing I like about this boss was the way it moved: it was so large, so ominous, that its movements were slow because it's so big.
Did I mention that its theme song is awesome?

My favorite boss in Metroid Prime 2. That thing was like one of those Quad Robots on Steroids, and what was even cooler was that it was way bigger than most other Metroid Bosses (with the exception of Kraid and Mega-Phantoon). Also the way you fight it reminded me a lot of the Scarabs in Halo, how you have to shoot it in the joints of each leg.

Plus, I've heard theory that Quadraxis was really an Aurora Unit AI plugged into a huge walking weapons platform, making it even more awesome. Like a more mobile version of the Aurora Unit 313.

This boss was one of the most creative I've fought, with the Spider Guardian coming in first.

It takes practice! Basically, the main idea is to understand how layers work, then alter their opacity.

dude that's bad a$$. i love the weapon you get from him but the only problem is you have limited ammo unlike the 1st game

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chrysaetos-pteron In reply to dakreaper [2010-12-30 16:21:58 +0000 UTC]

I know! That's one of the things I did not enjoy about the 2nd game- the ammo. If only that were changed, the game would be excellent. I love the annihilator beam too; and its missile combo.

Asesinamen In reply to chrysaetos-pteron [2012-03-22 15:07:32 +0000 UTC]

thinking about it, it's thanks to the ammo system that they could make these three beams more powerful. Had they left them with unlimited ammo, they would have been forced to implement more drawbacks to them for balance's sake. So, overall, I'm happy that they implemented the ammo.

But if you use action replays, here's a challange for you: try to defeat Mutated Emperor Ing by using only Darkbust and Sunburst

dakreaper In reply to chrysaetos-pteron [2011-01-11 04:35:07 +0000 UTC]

if you could use code device on the game like an action replay it would change it but I don't know if anybody has tried to hack the codes probably because it ruins game play as they say but i use cheats on games. i think it makes them more fun.

chrysaetos-pteron In reply to dakreaper [2011-01-11 22:49:27 +0000 UTC]

Well, I do happen to have an action replay. I have used it on MP2 to see how fast I can beat it without the limits of ammo or something.

dakreaper In reply to chrysaetos-pteron [2011-01-16 03:56:01 +0000 UTC]

i do know that if the codes are not on the action replay then they are usually on sites that provide codes and i have MP3 i just got it yesterday

Yes- there are a lot of websites out there with AR codes.

of course finding the good ones is the hard part. i also just beat metroid prime 3 corruption today

chrysaetos-pteron In reply to dakreaper [2011-01-17 15:34:26 +0000 UTC]

Trial and error is the only way to go with AR's. I just have basic codes like infinite everything.

they have something i think is called a powersaver. by the same people who made the action replay. here is a website it's called www.us.codejunkies.com it has new action replay devices. how i found it in which was me looking for action replay codes and stumbled upon it by accident. i don't know it helps but if doe's then at least i helped someone and i hate to ask but if know someone who has an AR or were i can find a cheap one

Hmm...I've heard of Powersavers, never used one.

Um...I don't think I can help you there; my parents bought me my action replay as a gift, so I never knew how much it cost. Try looking online to order one?

that's pretty much all of us gamers can do any more is get cheat devices offline cause of the Wii and the others and i why know cause i have a Wii. you can connect to the internet through wireless connection, but i don't know if it has a built in cheat device.i haven't tried that

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chrysaetos-pteron In reply to dakreaper [2011-01-21 00:46:10 +0000 UTC]

You would need to find a cheat device that could "break though" the Wii's firewall...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dakreaper In reply to chrysaetos-pteron [2011-01-21 18:03:17 +0000 UTC]

i could do that but I'm kinda worried about doing that seeing how i have no skills in that sort of field.i was thinking it might have one already built in but i don't know if Nintendo has done that yet tho.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chrysaetos-pteron In reply to dakreaper [2011-01-21 22:38:25 +0000 UTC]

well, you just need to search for a device that can do that for you; I'm sure they exist. Nintendo doesn't really approve of those kind of things though.

dakreaper In reply to chrysaetos-pteron [2011-01-23 02:25:53 +0000 UTC]

I'd say they get really pissed about that here lately

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chrysaetos-pteron In reply to dakreaper [2011-01-23 14:53:29 +0000 UTC]

Exactly; because people aren't really playing the games when they're hacking it. It shouldn't be their problem though, they still got money from people buying their games in the first place.

thats what i say all the time. i also have a beef with naughtydog the thing is there 2nd & 3rd jak & daxter games allow you to have in game cheats that you can buy with the orbs you get in the game but when i try to use my codes on the codebreaker for jak X combat racing which is nauhtydogs 4th jak & daxter game it wont even come up and the same thing happens with the gamesark thats why got the codebreaker in the first place to play jak X with the cheats i mean i've already have beaten it a dozen times and the other reason is my memory keep going corrupt cause my first jak X game mess up so i had to go get another one and i come to find out i've got to start all over again i had 100% game completion i mean everything was a 100%

Oh don't get me wrong, I find them all very cool. It's just that Quadraxis was such an epic battle. The enormous scale, the lack of any light zones, the boss's design. You start the boss for the first time and go

Yeah, I died because of that at least once. I think it was probably harder than Emperor Ing or Dark Samus because you didn't have the light suit yet.
