Generally, anything under 3" you can just sew in alone, unless it has a narrow base.

I like having ear flaps, because not many hats keep your ears warm.

Good luck!

I've been looking around at the hats you've made and I had just realized: I don't know my best friends' favorite animal..it's her late birthday present, lol. I think I'm going to add some sort of ears and the flaps on the bottom. I wish I had more variety of colors though, lol. I have blue and red. I'll be using your tutorials!

Hey, if people will use them, then it's worth it. (And it saves me from having to answer some of the same questions over and over again. xP)

CapricornDoll In reply to clearkid [2008-12-31 05:53:07 +0000 UTC]

I'm hoping to use them!! I can't really afford the materials right now, but I've been growing more and more interested in these sorts of things.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

clearkid In reply to CapricornDoll [2009-01-01 09:07:55 +0000 UTC]

Well, if you only need one color, you can buy enough material to make a hat for like $3.

Well, you can get everything except the sewing machine. xD But you can do without that.

clearkid In reply to soo-shi [2009-02-06 17:20:36 +0000 UTC]

You should check your yellow pages for a local craft and fabric store. I personally shop at a Jo-Anns, but I also have a Hobby Lobby and Wal-Mart that sell some.
