I finally got around to coloring a comic image of my own. I like the mythology of Diana's (aka Wonder Woman) character being a princess and the daughter of a goddess but the current comic character design doesn't reflect that. So, I created my own design that bridges the normal design and something more classic and mythic. I dropped the tights for a form of toga and made the entire brassiere metal instead of just the top. The red star on the tiara was replaced with a more elegant star shaped pattern. Anyways, it was hand drawn and inked and colored in PS CS4. CheersRelated content

This would work as a 'dress uniform - a formal costume that Diana wears for events like sacred festivals back home on Themiscyra.

That depends. A fan theory (not sure if it was comfirmed) was that the flag design coprorated into her uniform was to help the public and the government eaiser accept her as a hero and U.S. ambassador

You have no idea how much I appreciate this design. Of all the designs both professionals and fans gave wonder woman this one defines her as a goddess and amazon with the almost ancient Greek nude form which is how she should be. I hope this design goes somewhere comic wise or media wise hopefully but great design.

I totally agree with the artist.. love the outfit as it is more mythological.. still wonder woman looking. Her expression looks forlorn, sad?? confused? Would love to see this look drawn again.. maybe try different expressions and poses.. but the work itself is very nice. I am a big wonder woman fan since I was a child.. and used to pretend I was her. The textures are very nice too.. especially for comic art. Very nice!!

I always thought Wonder Woman had a silly character design that completely contradicted her origin story. Way too American, not enough ancient Greek. This is MUCH better.

I love your design of the tiara, and the way the clouds seem to be illuminated from the inside. I justo hope that the wind doesn't blow stronger!!! If there is some kind of underwear going on there, it must be terribly uncomfortable. Ouch

Of all the designs of Wonder Woman that I've seen, this one makes the most sense. Being a major fan of the DCAU I realized after watching Justice League again just how bizarre it was for the character to be wearing a costume modeled off the stars & stripes. I mean if she never set foot off Themiscyra before... Ah, y'know what, it's not worth nerd-picking. I just love this design, pure and simple. Excellent job!
