Description
my first submission of 2009! the Industrial Cyber Key - a bit steampunk and a bit cyberpunk! my 2 fav genres - and the 8 people that read my blog here will understand i thinkits a bit industrial, mechanical and punk - a cyberpunk dream in steel.
Here electronic equipment meets up with some wonderful industrial elements!
The "bottom" half of this pendant is made from a wind-up clockwork timing device. I haven't got a lot of these brass and steel pieces unfortunately - and I'm slowly rationing them out in special designs. This piece is the first for 2009 and I'm really quite pleased with it.
I've mixed that timer piece with an assortment of hardware. From the top of the piece to the dangling chrome below it is 2.5 inches - 6.35cm or so. It isn't that heavy but has a great solid feel.

This key is beautiful
I wish I could buy it from you.
Not the picture, but the actual key itself.
It would be wonderful.

thank you! It was trickier than most of the things I do - took a lot of fiddling around. It really looks better than the photo I think but I'm not sure how to capture it right. sigh. Still its great to hear that someone likes it besides me

Never mind, I can see it's beautiful!
Maybe if you try to put it on a black surface, the picture would look better.

well... i have enough parts to make... 3 or 4 of these. I just usually make variations. Change the chain, change little elements. If i wanted i guess i could duplicate things exactly. Usually i like to change it up a bit.

This is a very cool and fun piece!! nice work!! When I first saw it remembered me of car part or some part from a machine, very mysterious and yet interesting at the same time.

yes ! i think i know exactly what you mean. maybe some recast spark plug meeting up with a piston? it does have a machine feel which was what I was trying for.. all that slick chrome. Thank you kindly for your comment!
