Although this is a nice piece of jewelry.. it looks simple BUT it isn't. If you move the largest gear in the centre... the other gears will spin.It took an age to get the gears to work on this piece - cleaning and replacing the one that was broken. ... getting the rust off. now it spins like a charm.
Alas there was no way to repair this back to a working state - which would be a pocket watch repair job - but i've transformed it into jewelry.
Its been a large project, but well worth it.
To compliment the piece I've set it - for some added protection - into a wood base.
At the bottom there is a lovely faceted piece of amethyst set in sterling ... which is set into a gear. I like how the purple and gold go against the black base.
Not sure again if i should put it on etsy or on ebay. I'm scared of ebay. ... but I don't know what to price it at.
sigh.
anyway... I'm working on 2 other "moving movements" now.

It's amazing and a gorgeous piece! I think if you're worried about pricing, try finding forums for arts or try offering a price on here. You definitely want a price that's worth all the work you put in, plus you can turn the gear! Amazing!

I like the arrangement of straight metal bars, underneath that circular hole. It's very pleasant.
