I think it's clever that you start on a very similar premise to the TV series but (if my recollection serves me right) go off on your own tangent as the story progresses. The flow is very easy to read, so it's more difficult to put it down once you start reading. I especially like the comedic moments and the timing is great.
You have a knack for storytelling, which is a skill harder to grasp than to be able to draw well.

Thank you so much for the review.Β My stories have some dark spots, so I'm often concerned that that scares readers away, along with other concerns about the comic's flow and readability.Β I deeply appreciate you checking out the comic and commenting on it.

If I was in a situation like this, I'm not sure I'd like to sleep in the same room with a stranger I just picked from the road, zombies and all. :S

The duck in the hat isn't Duck Grimes but rather some nefarious fowl mentioned in a flashback by the little girl.Β This guy has no scruples.Β

Oh crap! Sorry...this is why I like to re-read comics from the front, because I sometimes get things mixed up. Admittedly, I was a little sleepy when I read this page, but still...he's wearing completely different clothes than Grimes, and it's obviously a flashback. (I feel like an idiot now)

Some Β entertaining and amusing images there. I like the low angle shot Β where the young duck is pleading - reminds me of a Joe Dante film and the zoom shot. That one broguht a bit of a smile to my face.

While I appreciate the humor, since I don't know Β much about them I'd rather not make fun of them. It's a bad road to follow. Just because I think their religion is insane doesn't mean it's bad, after all.

I generally respect religion, as I have several family members who are religious and they're good people.Β But I feel no religion (or athiesm, for that matter) is above criticism and satire.Β While there are likely good adherents to Scientology, it seems to function more as a status symbol and country club than a religion.Β Those who leave it tend to face significant ostracism and consequences, as well.

I feel like once a religion starts to charge you for salvation, you should look for other places to go. That's pretty much why Lutherans exist; because of the catholic church's practice of indulgences back in the 1700's.

Saklad In reply to cluedog [2014-07-17 16:13:04 +0000 UTC]
True, but satire usually involves an mocking an aspect of a religion, rather just panning it in general without any specific point. I still like the joke, though. Besides, we don't know enough about Scientology to make assumptions about what it is. Also, aren't ALL religions status symbols and clubs to a degree?

tirusr In reply to Saklad [2014-07-18 13:24:23 +0000 UTC]
My Parents are both former Scientology members.
They deserve every bit of ridicule and criticism they get.
Without bringing up how they ruin people's lives, dominate and control members, neglect children, keeping 'volunteers' in slave like conditions... and more...
They have harassed, tracked, and continue to peruse my family after 20 years. Friends of theirs have had it worse, we are lucky they have only been calling us repeated (sometimes multiple times a day for weeks.) They track us after moving so they can send us more Church brochures.
To leave the church, they had to cut ties with all the friends still in the church, which was pratically everyone they knew because they had been estranged from their families. You are not allowed to talk to a friend who has left the church. It's worse for kids who families are in the church. Can you imagine wanting to leave an insane religion and having to cut ties with everyone you know and love? I know other churches are like that too, it's a horrible thing.

That does sound horrible. Unlike you, I don't have any experience with them, so I try not to make assumptions. One way or another, they can't possibly be as bad as Westboro, right?

tirusr In reply to Saklad [2014-07-18 23:48:25 +0000 UTC]
Westburo is bad but I've never heard any stories of them killing someone. www.lisamcpherson.org/
They just have poorly time and inappropriate protests. They don't do anything that would be offensive without the context in which it's done. (e.i. protesting funerals and stuff.) And yes, many of there messages are horrible too but...
I actually find it quite offensive that they have set the bar for 'bad' religious groups when there is still Skin head, neo-nazis and KKK groups out there. (Interestingly enough, the KKK has come out against the Westburro)

Saklad In reply to tirusr [2014-07-19 03:43:00 +0000 UTC]

Neo Nazi's primary Target is Jews.
KKK are practitioners of Protestantism. (or w/e the proper word is.)
yea, Skin head's aren't a religion group but they are still worse then westborro who just stand around with signs and say offensive things.

Nazis attack religions, but they themselves are not religious. Besides, they think of their victims as a "race", not a religion. Also, practicing a religion doesn't make everything you do religious.
Anyway, I think this argument has gone on long enough, since we both have the same opinion, mostly.

tirusr In reply to Saklad [2014-07-19 13:29:10 +0000 UTC]
I think we can agree they are all bad people.
Also, this is more a discussion then an argument. I like to make that distinction because I hold no ill will towards you. My apologies if you felt otherwise.
