Description
A quick tutorial on how to prep stock photos for manipulation. The techniques used also apply to photo retouching, which is something I find I do a lot of.Be kind to your models -- put some effort into your deviation before you begin deviating!
Hopefully someone will find this helpful, or at least mildly entertaining...

Very useful. I have wanted for a long time to try to do some photomanipulations, but didn't know where to start. All is really easy to follow and very good tips. The changes on the last picture look awesome and the photo now really looks nice.
Thanks for sharing the tips and the tutorial .

I hope the tutorial comes in handy for some. Photomanipulation is actually a part of my "day job" sometimes, and there are a lot of little tricks that can make a big difference in the final product...

So thats why models always look so perfect! They had me fooled. Not that the models aren't insanely gorgeous to begin with... Good tutorial. Now I have to actually OWN photoshop and not stuipd PSP.

Most definitely -- It's almost impossible to find a magazine cover or ad nowadays that hasn't been extensively photomanipulated.
I'm sure you can do similar things in PSP, but Photoshop has become a frighteningly powerful tool, from photo retouching to out-and-out painting...
