Description
"Let's Green-Egg-and-Ham-It!"For parody poster contest. I wanted to go with something that no one else would probably think to do. And for whatever reason, Kazaam came to mind.
This is my first time ever drawing Aladdin. I feel I either made his head too big for his body or his arms too small. I don't know, but something is off. At least Genie looks good.

The merging makes sense since both films are owned by Disney.Β

I don't think I've seen Kazaam. The summary I found online sounds interesting, though. Of course Genie and Aladdin are perfect for the parts. :P
Hmm... about Aladdin, his head could be a little smaller, but it's fine as is. He doesn't look off to me, but when looking closer, it's probably his arms you're noticing. If you made them a bit thicker, it they'd be more in proportion. It's probably because of his pose, with his arms crossed like that.Β His forearms are a bit off from having to squeeze them in.Β It's hard drawing crossed arms. Aladdin's a pretty muscular guy, he'sΒ based on volleyball players if I remember right, so his arms would look more like Shaq's than like the kid's.Β But if you look closely at the original poster, both their arms go outward toward the elbows, while you have Aladdin's elbows go inward.Β If you want to draw something similar in the future, try looking in a mirror and see if you can figure out how the pieces work, it really helps to see things up close, where you can look at different angles and the such.
Oh, also, I think Aladdin characters are somewhere around six heads tall, if that helps. You'd have to guess at how many heads his upper legs are supposed to be, but it's possible. I think it's supposed to be close to two heads from his belt to his knees.

Thanks for all the helpful advice. I think you're right about the arms. They're just a bit too thin and go inward a little too much. I think had I drawn them going outward more the pose would look more natural to me.
Thanks for reminding me of the head-measurement rule. I had been taught that rule before, but forgot all about it. I've been eyeballing measurements on my characters for awhile. Might help me in the future to remember that.

I'm not familiar with the movie, but from looking at the original poster I can already see that you made a perfect choice

Never seen Kazaam, but it does make for a great parody poster for sure!
And it fits perfectly with Al and Genie.

I honestly don't know who that is. If anything, Nostalgia Critic inspired this.

ohhhh this is way cool and funny I like their big smiles
I think it's nice Al's head is big, it gives him a more childish look that reminds of the original poster
