Description
For the virtual reality series, this caption in particular, the gender words can give me trouble. Since it is happening in his/"her" mind, the quotes should satisfy both virtual reality and actual reality.

Words Below:
In the twenty-second century, most computers had a backup power supply that could last up to several hours. Disconnections were far less likely, even if there was a power failure. However, even in the twenty-second century disconnections still occasionally happened. Power failures could last for more than several hours or the backup power supply could simply not work.
The latter was what happened to Morgan. He was playing a virtual game with a female character. He was also using the hypnosis feature so he could truly experience things from the point of view of his character. When the power went out in his area, the backup power supply on his computer never turned out. Therefore he was never taken out of trance.
Morgan still saw himself as a young girl and an adventuress. He, or "she" from his point of view, looked around the room and eyed the everyday objects with suspicion. From a lifetime of adventuring in a virtual world, Morgan knew that things were rarely as they appeared to be. The most innocent looking objects could be the most dangerous because they could take people by surprise.
Ironically, Morgan was right about hidden dangers. The hidden danger was not the objects in the room. It was "her" own mind. "She" examined the unfamiliar objects in the room even though it was part of "her" everyday life. The actual world was stranger to "her" than the virtual world was to him because "she" didn't even know the actual world existed.
"She" went outside to examine the new world "she" was in. While exploring, "she" encountered someone who knew him. This still did not pull "her" out of trance. Through casual conversation, his neighbor quickly realized that something was not right. They argued over "her" gender and the world in general. It took a call to 911 to finally return him back to normal.
When the company who made the faulty computer heard the news, they offered Morgan a state of the art replacement. He was not an idiot and knew they were doing it to reduce the public relations damage they had received, but he still gladly accepted their offer. That way he could have an even better connection to his character in virtual reality. Despite everything, "she" still hadn't had enough.
