When this first came out, I gave people a week to vote on who they wanted to see win the Orcs Versus Elves demo.

Words Below:

Alex went through a similar experience.  He ended up in the mountains.  It was a very rocky landscape where hardly any vegetation grew.  The rocks had a reddish tint to them making it look like another planet.  All around him was the sound of the wind and the smell of rocks and dirt.

The power surge hit him too as his body was taking shape.  Once again the virtual body was selected with the default settings.  Urog was a young but battle hardened female orc.  She had green skin, black hair, and only basic leather armor.  A large axe was the weapon she used.

Using Urog, Alex could feel her hardened skin.  The dirt being blown around by the wind had no effect on her.  After looking around, she found a secret passage in the mountain range and went through it.  The only source of light was a faint glow from the other side of the passage.  It went to the arena.

The audience had on virtual reality glasses.  They could not actually feel the sensation of their characters like the players could, but they could pick an orc or an elf to sit in the stands and watch the battle.  At the center of the arena, two computer controlled characters, an elf and an orc, each blew a trumpet to announce that the battle was about to start.

Neither Henry nor Alex were experiencing things the way they wanted to experience them.  Either of them could have left the virtual reality game by conceding the battle, but neither of them wanted to do that.  Their rivalry, though friendly, was too intense to give their opponent such an easy victory.  They would just have to make the best of things.

The arena was filled with various weapons and obstacles that could be used during the battle.  As with the original game, some weapons would be quite effective, some weapons would not be effective at all, some obstacle would provide great protection, and some obstacles would only get in the way.  Finding out which was which required a combination of luck and skill.

With the bow and arrow Omylia would have the advantage at combat from a distance, but Urog with the axe would have the advantage if the battle was up close.  Urog charged Omylia.  She took two arrows to the arm but her tough skin could withstand such minor injuries.  Urog swug her axe at Omylia but she was able to roll out of the way.

Omylia took cover behind one of the obstacles.  She readied another arrow in case Urog was foolish enough to charge her again.  Urog knew better, picked up a large shield, and approached more slowly making sure her entire body was covered.  Omylia fired an arrow but it bounced harmlessly off the shield.  Then Omylia noticed the shield had a small hole in it.  She prepared another arrow, aimed for the hole and fired.
