Words Below:
Neil heard about a strange hotel in his city. Supposedly a number of people had gone missing but no one bothered to investigate because most people did not even remember who they were. Those few remaining people supposedly immune to its effects were not taken seriously because there was no way to prove that the missing people even existed.
Curious about the rumors, Neil decided to investigate. He went by himself which in hindsight was probably not a good idea. He searched all five floors of the hotel but could not find anything out of the ordinary.
Then he discovered a conference room he had not seen before. He tried the door expecting it to be locked, but to his surprise it opened. Inside were about a dozen men and women wearing business suits. They turned to Neil, clearly upset that their meeting had been disturbed.
They did not have to say anything. Just looking at them, Neil knew that the rumors were true. He ran out of the hotel as fast as he could go. Before he even got outside, his body started to change. He became younger and more feminine until he had the body of a young girl. His clothing changed too. It was nothing fancy, but it was enough to keep him properly covered while the changes occurred.
Going outside, Neil became Nancy. She was still getting younger. The clothing no longer fit her properly, but that was the least of her problems. Nancy was certain some very powerful people were angry with her and were determined to hunt her down.
In a nearby alley, Nancy found an old box leaning up against the wall. Not knowing what else to do, Nancy hid inside the box. It was not the best of hiding places but there was nowhere for her to run. It would have to do.
Nancy tried to remain quiet as best she could but it was difficult to do while hiding inside the box. She stayed there for several minutes, occasionally peeking to see if anyone was coming. Then a girl who appeared a few years older than she was went up to the box, tagged her, and declared that she was it.
As far as Nancy was concerned, that was fine with her. She preferred to be the seeker. That way she did not have to stay in one place for a long time. She returned to the hotel and got ready to count to 50.
