Alan was an 18 year old college student. While on break, he decided to check out the antique shop in the more mysterious part of town. The shop was empty except for an old woman who stood by the cash register. Inside was a wide variety of items ranging in age from several decades to several centuries.

In one corner was a rack of coat hangers with old clothes on them. This got Allen's attention, especially a black and white dress that looked like it would fit a little girl. He imagined the little girl who once owned that dress. The image in his mind became clearer and clearly as he imagined her attending school, playing with her toys, playing with her friends, and having conversations with the people in her neighborhood.

While Alan had these things in mind, he reached out for the dress. He was only half aware he was doing it and yet it happened. As soon as he touched the dress, the dress and his own clothing magically switched places.

Alan was wearing a complete outfit consisting of the black and white dress, a blue jacket, a blue hat, white shoes, and black shoes. The coat hanger which used to hold the dress instead held his old shirt and pants. The clothing changed into an older style while looking more or less the same. While this was going on, Allen became younger and smaller so he would better fit the dress that never should have fit him in the first place.

His hair grew longer and his physical features changed making him look more and more like the little girl he imagined earlier. In a matter of seconds, Alan was more than a decade younger and had become fully female. While he, or she, thought about the girl in the black and white dress, the name Alison popped into her head. This was clearly her name.

Alison thought about the girl in the black and white dress and realized she was the girl in the black and white dress. Those memories were her memories along with playing on the computer and having a video chat with her grandparents. She recalled her old memories as Alan, but that was old news. She wanted to explore her new memories as Alison.

The old woman by the cash register once again had to act as babysitter. She spent a considerable amount of time talking to Alison and asking if anything in the shop was of interest to her. At last Alison's parents arrived ready to take her home.
