Words Below:

A new year was starting and the girls in the sorority were planning their next party.  Travis was a new student.  He had suffered years of abuse from his family and was glad to get away from them.  He was also concerned about his future.  Travis was never known for his good grades.  If his grades were too low, he would have to go back home and face the wrath of his parents and older siblings.

Travis was sitting by himself when one of the girls from the sorority approached him.  She asked what was wrong and he told her.  He even showed her some of the bruises on his arms and legs which were still visible.  This was something that could not wait until their next party so she gave him a special invitation to visit the sorority.

Since Travis was new, no one had time to warn him about the sorority.  Even if they had, it would not have made any difference.  As far as he was concerned, they could not possibly be worse than his own family.

Before Travis showed up, the girls in the sorority talked about what to do.  They agreed he needed a new family.  His family would need to encourage him but love him regardless of the results.  When Travis arrived, the girls immediately surrounded him.  One of them gave him a jacket with a British flag on it.

"What is this?" asked Travis.

"Just put it on," one of the girls encouraged.

"It will help you get away from your past," another girl chimed in.

Travis put on the jacket.  Immediately his body started to change.  His blond hair lengthened and turned lighter.  He became shorter and slimmer.  His gender changed from male to female.  Her clothing changed into something more appropriate for a girl in late summer.  Her bruises vanished as if they had never existed.  Finally all her official documents changed though that was something she could not see.

"As far as everyone knows, you are an exchange student from the United Kingdom named Tracy," explained one of the older girls who Tracy instinctively knew was the president.  "They live in Wales.  You are their only child and they are impressed with your ambition to go to another country."

"How did this happen?" gasped Tracy.  She stopped talking when she heard her own voice.  It was not because she sounded like a girl, but because she spoke with a British accent.  She had almost forgotten being a boy

"We have friends all over the world who are willing to help us," the president replied.  "You have already adjusted to being a girl.  Being from another country will probably take a few more days because it is something we do not do very often.  We voted before you ever got here and you have been unanimously accepted into the sorority.  This is something that could not wait.  Congratulations!"

"You might want to write a letter home so you can introduce yourself to your new family," suggested yet another girl.

"Other new family," added the girl who invited him.  "We are your family too and we are the ones you will be spending plenty of time with, at least in the immediate future."

Tracy was grateful for her new family.  Perhaps they could help her keep her grades on track.  Her accent did not seem quite right, but she guessed this was because in Wales most people spoke the same.  She would do her best to do well in school so when she returned home, her parents would welcome her with open arms.
