Ryan wanted to join Magic Academy but he did not feel his magic was powerful enough to qualify. Then he remembered about the netherworld and the powerful beings that existed within it. Even the weakest of them had magical abilities that surpassed those of mere human beings. The best thing of all was that they could be controlled! He had just enough magic to do it.

Although a smaller creature would probably be sufficient for his purposes, Ryan wanted to summon something powerful like a monster or a demon. That would really impress the teachers and students at Magic Academy. Once he decided on his target, the most powerful demon he had researched, he set to work.

Ryan placed a large jug of holy water beside him and drew a pentagram on the floor. Various magical objects were placed at the points of the star. He was not entirely sure about their purpose but he knew they would be needed for the summoning ritual. He opened his book, turned to the proper page, and chanted the words he found there loudly. The pentagram glowed a dark red.

This let Ryan know the spell was working. He continued chanting even louder than before. A fierce wind began to blow. Various papers blew all around him. Some of the papers resembled the pages in his book but that did not stop him. As he chanted the wind blew around him faster and faster. It was as if he and not the pentagram was the location for the spell.

Ryan noticed his body was changing. He gasped and closed the book but by that time it was already too late. His hair turned a light shade of blond and grew until it was below his waist. Wings sprouted out of his back. His eyes turned red. His clothing turned red. Most of his clothing disappeared leaving only a short red dress behind.

The name Ruby entered his mind causing him to lose all memory of ever being called Ryan. Other memories of his previous life were still present but they did not concern him. They were not important. Red earrings appeared on his ears and a red collar appeared around his neck.

Attached to the collar was a broken chain. There was no way for Ruby to know where the chain had come from, why it was there, or why it broke but he knew it could not be good. The last thing to change was his genitals leaving him, or her, fully female.

Ruby looked around at her surroundings. Not only had her summoning ritual failed, she became a creature very similar to the one she intended to summon. After a few moments of depression, she picked herself up again. Ruby had become a magical being which meant she had more than enough magic to get into Magic Academy. The teachers and students there would be impressed with her skills after all.
