Ah! Finaly I found one of yout tutorials! Thank you very mutch for share this information.
I have a question: whitch lineature (LPI) do you use for Internet and printing works in softwares like Manga Studio and Deleter Comic Works? I'm learning manga studio (self thought) and have some trouble when I reduce the resolution to put the drawins on the web.
I appreciate your help!
Thank you!

This is really informative. Thanks a lot.
I've got a question, why is it that you say if this was an actual manga page you'd stop at one point? I notice when you were supposed to stop, you left the tones kind of light, but as you progressed further you made them darker. (Which, quite frankly, is what I would have done because I think it looks better...)
Is it a printing issue? Or something else I don't understand? Either way, it seems to be true for a lot of digital manga I see online I find.

It'll be too expensive for traditional toning that's why you have to stop at some point

this is too good to be true! like hell i need this tutorial! thanks for making one >_< just wanna ask what resolution do you use when you tone? cu i've noticed that the reso plays a great part in the result o the toned art and that bugs me a lot cuz usually my finished toned art comes with this stupid moire pattern effect, and its so damn annoying. i want to be a manga-ka so badly but lack knowledge T-T ...need help

I usually scan/work on 600 DPI ..... though 300 DPI works also. As to get rid of the moire patterns.... in colorhalftone in photoshop use any even #pixel, 2. 4, 6, works best in printing ( printing press or laser printers ) and odd #pixel, 5, 7, 9, for ink jet and web

Many thanks!! So nice and in depth. I feel Tone-enlightened, now ^_^ Time to look back over some of the old Tone-tuts I've seen before in a bit of a new light.
Thanks again!

Wow, toning is a lot harder than it seems at first, but this was a very useful tutorial that shows how you can achieve some of the details. I might have to use this, heh, now I want to go out and buy some tones!

there are digital ones scattered through out the net but I don't use them since they're are not as accurate as traditional ones.

I guess this is how Ken Akamatsu (Love Hina creator) put shadows and shadings to his manga 'Negima'. I have four of his books
