Description
The M3 was the United States' first entry into armored hover vehicles intended for combat.

The vehicle was exceptionally large, being built around a robust but bulky power plant. Despite this, the vehicle was impressively fast, being driven by numerous large thrusters. This combination of factors made the vehicle one of the most expensive pieces of equipment in the US Army's arsenal. In terms on armament, the M3 featured conventional projectile weaponry, including the main cannon, a coaxial machine gun, and a .50 caliber pintle-mounted machine gun. The vehicle was never retrofitted with energy weapons, as production had ceased in favor of the much more efficient Hovertank M4.

Even as technology progressed and energy weapons came into vogue, the M3 held its place a workhorse, being able to face off against most enemy armor at even extreme ranges.
