Description
The second of but a series of aliens requested by by yours truly!Onto the facts!
Name: Scaldamander
Species: Ltoloxan
Homeworld: Aquainfluunt
Powers/abilities: Scaldamander has slippery, wet skin that is constantly being being moist due to the water that near constantly springs forth from a special ridge along his back and secondary circulatory system. This makes him very hard to hang onto and thus rendering him nearly uncatchable in most regards.
Scaldamander has sticky pads on the bottoms of his hands and feet that allow him to scale vertical surfaces like a gecko with ease, as well as firmly grasp onto anything in his possession.
The Ltoloxan's main ability however, is that of their waterbending capabilities. They can perform something as simple as firing a blast of pressurized water form their mouths to manipulating large bodies of water such as rivers, lakes, streams, and even vast networks of underground piping; they can even raise and lower the temperature of the water as needed. They accomplish this by first shaking themselves free of a thin, yet easily dispersed layer of slime that the pores of their skin produces into a nearby water source, which lets them bend the water to their will. The slime is completely harmless to most organisms and will only make them violently sick should it be ingested before it fully dissolves.
The pods upon Scaldamander's arms can be removed and thrown like water balloons for quick escapes, albeit ones that nearly instantly freeze upon bursting or vaporizing into a smokescreen of steam.
Ltoloxans possess limited camouflaging abilities that let them blend into flowing water with ease.
Scaldamander is a swift swimmer and glide through water with minimal effort.
Scaldamander can smell sources of water from many miles away.
Scaldamander has enhanced agility.
Weaknesses: Ltoloxans are not very durable and their skin is very soft and delicate. A human could easily punch them and leave a nasty bruise and a well aimed hit could seriously fracture a bone or two.
Scaldamander sometimes has problems with the sticky pads of his hands and feet, as they don't always let go when he tries to 'tell' them to. It in fact takes a few years for young Ltoloxans to fully grasp the concept of their adhesive hands and feet, thus creating some rather comical situations in the process.
Ltoloxans have very poor eyesight and are easily blinded by bright lights.
Ltoloxans are not very strong and rely almost entirely on their waterbending powers to do any heavylifting that is required of them.
Etymology: Scaldamander's name is a combination of the words "salamander", referencing his amphibious appearance, and "scald", referencing his water manipulation capabilities.
Trivia: The species name derives the word "axolotl" spelled backwards, a species of salamander best known for their incredible regenerative capabilities and extensive usage by Alex Hirsch whenever he doesn't want to answer a question that will spoil the plot of a much beloved television series .
The homeworld's name comes from the words "aqua" and "influunt", which are Latin for "water" and "flow", respectively.
Ltoloxans are naturally awkward and paranoid, almost always overreacting to everything that happens around them to the point of frustration from allies and enemies alike. Scaldamander thankfully, does not seem to possess this seemingly genetic cowardice.
The Ltoloxan homeworld, Aquainfluunt, is a planet covered mostly by shallow lagoons and warm seas with the planet's crust being filled with expansive caverns and tunnels. Ltoloxans live in this subterranean maze and rarely ever leave for the surface, only coming out three times a year when the ocean currents of their planet bring a bounty of seafood for them to stock up and feast upon; when these supplies run out they return to licking bio-luminescent algae off the cavern walls, which in turn makes them glow for a brief time.

Hmm, good question.
Appearance-wise, they'd honestly not be too different from Godzilla - at least, reference-wise. Their skull would become more shark-like, with reptilian features, and they'd assume a more primitive/dinosaur-like posture. They'd grow an additional four toes with claws and lose their webbed hands/feet and fluked tail. They'd also gain thick, armored plating on their arms and legs and shield-like scales in place of their previously soft, moist skin. Most importantly however, they would receive three 'sails' of running water all the way down to their tails and would likely wear an outfit consisting of black pants with a green sash that the Omnitrix is located on.
Power-wise, since they're now more reptilian than amphibious, they've basically had to re-invent their water-manipulation abilities from the ground up. They've done this by evolving the ability to generate an electro-magnetic field, which allows them to expertly manipulate water around them on a tremendous scale, thanks in part to their large size (about the size of Humgousaur when he's at his full size). This allows him to shape and move water however he likes, whether that's creating water whips and tidal waves or shields and full-blown hurricanes. This also lets him decide the kinetic energy at which the water molecules will move, thus giving him further control over whether or not the water he manipulates will be scalding hot/steam or freezing cold/ice. He would also be able to manipulate objects or organisms whose composition is more than 50% water, forcing them to move to his own accord, though this takes some serious level of concentration. As per his large size, he is also much more durable and stronger than his devolved form.
As for how Scaldamander's species came to this point, it was largely a number of factors. Tectonic movements collapsed the majority of the cave systems that they originally lived in, forcing them out into the open ocean where they faced numerous marine predators. As if that wasn't bad enough, a collision with an asteroid of equal system not only destroyed their moon, but reformed it into a celestial object so big that it's considered a planet and their home planet is now considered a moon by comparison. This had the effect of turning their own paradise-like home into a chaotic world of superstorms and hurricanes. This, combined with the threat f predation, forced Scaldamander's species to overcome their instinctual fear of just about everything and climb their way up to the top of the food chain until they were the undisputed apex predators of their ecosystem. Unfortunately, because they're so large, they require vast amounts of food and became less social, which resulted in their behavior cycling back to a more primitive state; where they once had a complex language not like our own, now they speak with little more than deafening roars and thunderous bellowing (though this is mostly so they can be heard over the near-constant storms on their planet).

Eh, Scaldamander's a bit too frantic to do that. Think of his personality being comparable to that of Pleakli from Lilo and Stitch or Fear from Inside Out.

I'm more of an earthbender myself, but I have to agree that it is awesome. Virtually any kind of bending is awesome.

But still you did a good job!

When I was working on Scaldamander I was browsing through old Ben 10 concept art (back when it was 'Dial H for Hero') with the idea that I wanted to create an awkward and cowardly species in contrast to the usually sinister, stoic, or enlightened aliens I've created recently; another inspiration was Pleakly from Lilo and Stitch, specifically the prehistoric form he was turned into the TV series based on the movie episode, "Retro".

I watched it when I was younger. I thought it was really fun, especially since Stitch IS Experiment 626 and that would mean there would have to be another 625 before him, all just as destructive and mischevious as Stitch. I even drew my own 'evil' Experiments and still have the journal I drew them in..

Oh cool! You know believe it or not I once did that myself back then when I was little. Had a big book of em when I made them. But they were all ridiculous and I didn't even give them specific powers. But they were still fun to draw.

To be fair, at least 100 of Jumbaa's experiments weren't particularly useful in causing planet-wide chaos since he was only just getting the hang of gene splicing.
That being said, a good portion of my Experiments were just different colored copies of some experiments with different names and without much difference in their abilities; a few recent ones that I made in my classes out of boredom are a lot better in my opinion, most likely since I've had practice honing those skills on Ben 10 aliens.
