huh, that's actually pretty helpful. I've always sucked when it came to anything with mechanical parts

This is a pretty cool tutorial that could be used for more than drawing just transformers. Not many robotic tutorials online.

I'm heavy surprised than no one commented on this glorious tutorial( or at least second part of it).

But let me to ask you one question: You covered the flyiers and both here and earlier the cars-based altmodes. But what about motorcycles/scooters? Any tips how to make it both work and not to forget( too much) about mass-shifting( okay I know Arcee as a motorcycle was transforming into her leg and the rest comes out of nowhere).
Why I'm asking about it? Because few days ago( after nearly 1,5year of struggle) I came to some sense with designer of my character that was given a motorcycle altmode, but now as I look at this it lacks something.
How to make this altmode work?

Well the tips are always the same and apply for every sort of altmode - you character will be convincing if you keep the mass logical, include necessary parts to identify the vehicle behind it and take care to include a robotic -touch - gaps, joints, mechanics and so on. The difficulty with motorcycles and small vehicles of that sort is the little mass. All you can do there is to either make your character thin or small. Where you place the tired or certain parts is up to you and follows the same ideas shown with the flyers and cars.

hope this makes sense to you ^^ if not, let me know (I also have several character designs in my gallery which are based on motor cylces if you want to check out some ideas)

Sorry for late response- life.

Thank you for you comment, everything is perfect clear, just one more thing: if you chose the one specific model either of a motorcycle or car or flying vehicle- do you aim( and do you thing other people should aim) for recognizing the brand( like "Oh this is Harley Davidson Road King/ Honda Civic IX/ F-22" [nah just random brands]) or it's more important to be able to tell "it's motorcycle/car/jet"?
