As long as we TRUE bronies strongly stand beside FIM, it will be pushed to greater heights, new and better seasons/episodes and continue up until the point that when it does end we can look back and say "Well guys, that was a great run".
We all know that everything comes to an end at some point, but until then we will enjoy it for what it is and what it will become. Even when it is finished, the episodes will still be online for us to watch, dedicated bronies will still post awesome pictures and animations, and the fan-fictions will still be up for those that like to read them. All in all, its great to have something we can all enjoy together, laugh about, write about, etc. this "show" has built a great community and I hope I'm not lying when I say that all of us will try our best to keep it that way for many years even after the grand finale.

Then again, I just spent a weekend watching Charlie Chaplin movies beginning from "The Kid" up to "Monsieur Verdoux," so maybe I should instead get a Chaplin tattoo. Would that get dated a lot in the next 60 years so that after my death people will wonder who the heck he was?

Truthful enough. 100 years wipes away the traces of generations, to be forgotten by those that live into that future. When it's 2114, I will be long gone, and everyone I know will be gone too. Other things will capture the attention of the young, and the cycle shall repeat.
But something is never dead until it's completely forgotten. It will be several decades until this magic dies; until then, we revel in the fandom and make the most of it. If I feel that keeping the legacy of this fandom alive, then I will show those before me where to find magic.
On my grave, I plan on having some sort of reminder of what I live in now to make itself evident. It will serve as a reminder to all that pass by, and signify my time here.
