Since I didn't put my watercolors down yetit's TIME FOR EXPERIMENTS!
I know the pose looks a bit lot off for this setting, but I had another sketch in mind I wanted to do this style in
but didn't want to risk ruining it so I sacrificed this one instead - a doodle I made with absolutely no further plans whatsoever, on this lovely textured watercolor paper piece
I snatched from work, that is absolute pain to get scanned right. Yay.Β
But I'm happy with the colors *u*

Masking fluid is a friend ^^ with a thin rubber brush it was easy to put on and make the ripples with it
that's because they are just those random reddish splotches that I forgot to refine XD

I thought they were, like, some dead leaves on the bottom of the sea, not starfishies!

They were supposed to be starfishes! I just forgot to refine them XD but well dead leaves do just as well....
The ripples are basically on the bottom as they are reflections from the surface - so this should be from below the surface I guessΒ Β
Masking fluid is a friend so this wasn't too hard to make actually

Omgzies, masking fluid! I owned a bottle once ages ago. At one point I rediscovered it only to find the insides as one big ass half dry clump. Completely unusable clump! I should get a new one whenever I feel like using watercolors. :')
I see, the bottom ripples! For a test it worked wonderfully with the masking fluid. I'm just thinking that perhaps it would look more like bottom ripples if the light stripes didn't cover details?
